WGT player Mannyankees wins the tie-breaker in the heated Tour Legend tier, to become The First Tee Open champion in the WGT Virtual Tour.
Tour Legend players really showed up this month in The First Tee Open, with five top players shooting an impressive 106 on Bethpage Black and forcing a tie-breaker to determine the winner.
To break a tie, the system automatically compares scores for the Final 9, final 6 and final 3 holes, and if still a tie then it goes hole-by-hole starting with Hole 18 and working back. See tournament rules for details.
Congratulations to ESTIENNE, dansamcam, HaojenTW and frenchconnect on their second place standing, which is a very strong finish given the tough field, and to all the winners of The First Tee Open who win their share of the 200,000 WGT Credit purse.

The Virtual Tour season race is heating up, but is still anyone's game. With spots available for the top 64 players in each tier, many players still have the opportunity to qualify for the Virtual Tour Championship in December -- with a record purse of ONE MILLION WGT CREDITS. In the Tour Legend tier of the very best WGT players, dansamcam has won four regular events and currently sits in the #1 spot in the Season rankings, while poldimaier and frenchconnect have each won one major, placing them high at #2 and #4 in the season standings.

WGT players should compete in the Virtual Tour every month, to accumulate Virtual Tour credits and qualify for the December Championship. This month's Major event in September is the Strike Out ALS Challenge held on Merion, host of the 2013 U.S. Open. As a Major tournament in the WGT Virtual Tour, there is a huge 400,000 WGT Credit purse up for grabs, split by the top 70 scores in each tier. This could push a current leaderboard winner further out of reach, or give a lower ranked player a huge jump up the standings. Don't miss it!
WGT is very proud to be working with the ALS Association to support the fight against ALS to treat and cure this disease.
