If anyone is curious about how such low scores are shot on a brand new OPEN course on the first day of its opening just take a look at the leaderboard, click on the top name of some of the top 20 and then click on their score history. You will see immediately on most of them how hard work and dedication pay off. As most of them only played the Qualifier once and posted scores of 56 and 57's (-14 and -13's).

I and others have played on this site long enough to know that those scores are acheivable but only after having played a course several times. Not on ones first attempt or even the second.

I'm sure by the time qualifying is over we'll have -18's and -20's

Hooray for auto clickers, cheat programs, and putter injections.

PS, the greens are not as fast as the tournaments green speed advertised, but for these guys no problem

Hello Bryant. I'm 1 of the players that shot 57 and on my profile it shows i only played it once. Truth is though i only completed the full 18 once. I restarted the round about 10 times before i went on a run of birdies. If i wasn't -4 through the 1st 6 then i restarted. I can be pretty sure that most of the players in the top 10 did the same. It's unlimited play after all so this how players will do it.

Just when are people going to stop calling these great players cheats because there better than most ? Would just like to say WELL DONE to all the players up there with the best scores on my first attempt i scored a 62 with 2 bogeys so it can be done ! I AGREE with bryant1 that the greens are slower than tourney but as for all these cheats thats just NOT TRUE !   Just my opinion  .     SMOKEY.

Although the qualifying just started last night the full course has been available to play on for almost a week. So many players got to play it and learn it before the qualifying started, I played it once or twice last week myself.

I played Full 18 twice last friday thanks to some friends' challenges, with a 60-62. And I learnt something good to remember in the following rds.

This morning I had a 60, due to "slow tournament" green. I took some mental note, just to have a 57 one hour later. Anyway, it won't be enough for the Major cut (56, I think)

The course has been available to play since Friday, I played a couple of 18s prior to today. I also played the front 9 a few times prior to that.

The scores are as always very impressive, the thought of having to shoot 56 to qualify is something I don't want to consider right now. I do though think it will be at worst 57 so I am going to have to continue grinding this one out....

At least you get a chance of the big prize just by entering. There's no way I'd get it any other way.

That doesn't seem to be getting any press, either. I didn't notice it until you mentioned it.

Does this mean Merion Golf Club is next year?  :-)

who gives a rat's *** when the usual numpties start hollering cheats/autoding proggies and the usual annual shyte every time the open qualifiers are going on.

i could care less about them or the idiots who think the low scores were posted after only one attempt.

i notice that the tourney greens ain't tourney greens .....but could care less about that....it's a great course so well done WGT.
