This is getting ridiculous.  I have had so much trouble trying to complete a game with others due to the 5 minute timer, quitters and the game being canceled due to more than 5 mins inactivity.

WGT....how about testing and getting member input before implementing such a drastic change to the game.  All this is going to do is make people not want to play ad thus not pay you anything.  All you are doing with this new protocol is hurting your revenue and running off members... nothing else.

This is a great feature that has been added and WGT players have asked for it. I know the bulk of players complaining here are talking about random people and it can get frustrating but  I know I have played with people in my CC or on my friends list and it sucks when a disconnect happens for whatever reason and you lose one of your buds. As for the 5 mins thing I think 5 mins is great and in the future would love an option to allow for longer when you know your bud is having computer problems.

Great work WGT and awsome idea thanks for listening,

    Mes.

I don't like to slow down your euphoria, but this is only one of those "great new features" which have been introduced and do not work properly.

The subject of challenge games being aborted by quitters at the cost of honest players has not been solved ever since I joined (at least no mentioning here),

the recent implementation of cut lines in CC tourneys is faulty in many aspects, costing players credits - unfortunately no answer by WGT to reasonable complaints in more than five weeks,

now the re-programmed multi-player stroke play feature seems strongly unadvisable to use due to the fact that innocent players are confronted with percentage losses from connection problems and quits of others.

I'd like to see less new features from WGT but more finalized issues on the well-known and the newer flaws. That I would consider great work!

Thanks for the post! Oviously you disagree or are pissed at other features that are not working correctly. Like you I could point out lots of problems and glitchs with features and things going on. But WGT adding new features as requested by members is a postive thing. Its also postive that we let them know what is not working and hope they come up with a solution.

As for the topic at hand a  new feature has been added that allows for people that are doing a round together to wait while the other player having problems for whatever reason can have time to re join the group.

The only thing going on here regarding that is people complaining its takes to long or there should be a option to kick the player out etc. Well currently before this update MP game worked that way and I agree there should be more options but great that a group can continue to play now even with the 5 min window as it is.

Now for the % disconnects etc. Unlike alot of people I play mostly with people on my list and I am fairly lucky when it come to the odd random play I do. If you make some friends or get friends to join the % of game completed etc would not matter as you are playing with people you know or have meet on game and is only a representation of the last 30 games so really not a biggie.

These are the points be discussed and put down in the topic, I wanted to point out that I think these new add ons especially the rounds with a group was awsome.

All the rest of the stuff you are talking about I agree you have a reason to gripe but are not relivant in this topic other then to *** and moan about it.

That my 2 cents and I think explains where I was comming from on this post.

I disagree with the current situation, to have many different road jobs open, then building new ones, leave the old bumps unfixed and even spoil those roads working. Thus, this "beta" game might dwindle down to delta, theta or even omega.

I'm pissed by some disappearences of customer service here, very blatantly shown in the cut line case.

In the topic at hand two new features mingle together:

    - players who can't finish a strokeplay game due to errors invoked by disconnects of others are confronted with

    - percentage drops which result neither from their own behaviour nor from faults in their equipment or connection.

Imagine you there is a brand-new improvement built into your old but reliable car because government suggests it. This feature provokes a break-down on the highway, and you are fined for having to stop there - "great new feature"?

    WGTicon:

    Hi

5 min wait period if a pretty good time frame for a full reboot/modem re-dial in and reconnect.

    -wgticon

that may well be, but apparently it's wreaking havoc on the game,
I think you should shorten the timer significantly,
otherwise ppl will lose interest, in joining/starting multi-p rounds.

you're actually giving quitters more power to destroy good rounds,
keep the lobby - but cut the waiting time in half

This is a solution in search of a problem.  Get rid of the lobby for Stroke games entirely.  It's insanely useless.  As long as a person quit correctly before there was no issue.  So what if you are denied a few experience points when someone quit?  Big deal.  At least everyone remaining could keep moving along.  Now it's like having the rangers come along and tell you "You're playing too slow so you must all stop for 5 minutes and contemplate the error of the ways of someone else".  Quit wasting your programmers time and instead have them fix the game crashing when someone quits by closing their window instead of the end round option.  Seriously.

I was playing a stroke play game with three others yesterday. One of them either quit, or was disconnected and although I don't understand why, I lost my connection at exactly the same time. I'm no quitter, but the new system did allow me to re-join the good game we were having and the three of us completed the match, which we wouldn't have been able to do previously. As things had previously been, the other guys would have been 'slagging me off', as a quitter.

Just to say, that the re-connection took me about 2 minutes, although I didn't have to re-boot my computer. The new system worked for me, although I do think that 5 minutes might be a bit too long.

    Just my experience, that's all.
