Ah, this is starting to make sense to me. No more gift cards... so more people can play in other states because the lawyers can fight over the legalese. Seeing that there are no (WGT-sanctioned) ways to cash credits out, players in more states are likely eligible for Ready-Go tourneys under the applicable laws.

    Makes sense indeed.

IF wgt would just have communicated that.... (supposing it's true)

Exactly the only reason they would not come out tell us so is a total disregard for anything we say, do or think.

Well, I don't think it's a crazy theory, but am eager to be proven wrong.

Surely there's some thought behind this?

Editing due to double post. As I make my way through the huge thread regarding the updates, I think there is little doubt that this is the case.

Bring on the black market - I have absolutely no doubt that many players will be buying their Nike balls from top-tier players.

Ha, I wrote that awhile ago and it seems to be happening already. WGT credits are going to be like WoW gold now, just a little less liquid as you'll have to deal in balls and clubs that's all. Oh, and custom avatars. I know I am going to be asking Bollox for one of those.

I don't think that is it. The states that are allowed to play RG's that weren't before weren't allowed to play them or any other premium tourny even before the Elite collection was added. When all they were playing for was credits to buy clubs, balls and other in game only things from the pro shop. The elite collection with the gift cards has not been around that long.
