Received my own pc after being fixed with a new graphic card.

I used Chrome to play WGT since 2 years ago and never had problems with the meter. I just tried to play WGT with Chrome again in the same fixed pc and the meter is simply lightning fast!

While my pc was fixed I was using my daughters old pc; a pentium 4 with 1gb ram. Someone suggested me to use the Maxthon browser with that old pc. Yes, meter was smooth enough but I had to clean the cache every 20-30 min, to have an ok smooth meter.

I have tried Maxthon in the fixed pc, the meter is much slower but it gets choppy often no matter how many swings I try before hitting the ball.

I wonder if someone has a tip of how to slow down the meter with Chrome or simply try a new browser.

    Regards, Eric

A kind member of our CC suggested me to play using "Standalone" flash player, the Flash version to slow the smooth but rocket meter. I do not know which version I need to use (there are several Standalone Flash versions) and do not know to install properly.

When using Explorer, Maxthon or Firefox, the meter "speed" is the correct one, but horrible choppy meter. When using Chrome the meter is ever so smooth but lightning fast, as mentioned before.

    Anyone with a tip?

    Eric

im pretty sure the meter speed changes by the day some times the meter seems slow and easy use.

this morning i played and meter seem to be lightening quick as if i was using the free wgt balls.

maybe in my head i dont know, could be down to my mood on the day

meter is normally best on maxthon but lately that hasnt been the case, comodo dragon is the other browser of choice for me

with chrome i cant hit the ding at all seems i have to press really early and doesnt agree with me

    ;)

Thanks for your answer. I also though that all could simply be within my head but ...nah I can try the meter with Explorer and it is ugly but SLOW, I turn to Chrome and the meter becomes very smooth but so much FAST.

    Ouch, Eric

    Hi Eric,

I'm sure others will tell you different, but this is what works for me:

You say you aren't too sure about installing etc.

Clicking here will automatically download  an older stand alone  version for you to try. (It's in a zip file format). Once downloaded, right click and hit 'show in folder' - extract the files using something like 'winrar' or '7zip'.

Once installed open chrome and type the following in chrome://plugins

You should see a page open similar to this.......

Create a shortcut on your desktop that opens the 'old version' of chrome (program may well install one itself).

When you install an older version of flash you tend to get an annoying pop up warning you that it is indeed out of date and may not work on some sites. To avoid this happening you need to type a thing called a  'flag' into the properties of your desktop shortcut that you use to open chrome (mine's opens on my wgt profile).

Hover over the shortcut and right click on it till a window opens. At the bottom of the opened window you'll see 'properties' - click it. Where it says 'Target:' you'll see the address of the location of the flash you just installed contained within quotation marks. Directly after the last quotation mark type in one space and then the following : --allow-outdated-plugins

Should you find that sites like youtube don't work just enable the latest flash (pepper based) and disable the old one.

As I said previously it's worked thus far for me. All I'm doing is passing the info on before the 'clear your cache' brigade arrive.

Good luck - hope it works.

    My head's bursting noooo! lol

    :O)

Scott's post above may be easier. Wish I'd seen the ruddy thing before I started typing ..... lmfao

    Eric....

Try using the older beta version of Maxthon. I was getting the slightly choppy stuff from time to time with the newer versions of maxthon. It's not the browser...it's the version of flash it uses.

    Maxthon 3.5.2.600 Beta rocks.

    Get it here.....
