You could even make these level specific rewards.

    1. No wind option.

    2. Default green speeds for advanced settings. (I've been hosting an UL tourney. We can have default tees but not greens.)

    3. 8 competitor bracket (We have trouble filling brackets set for less than Legend/TL.)

    Just thinking aloud.

Very good ideas. Hope they make to their list.

    ad 1: appreciated

ad 2: Any competitions have common green speeds for all competitors - choose or let the game select.

ad 3: Would like that, too. Alternatively, members may fill some spots without playing.

Concerning the green speeds, we recently set up part of our CC Championship as follows:

Three parallel tourneys on the same course for separate tier clusters, each with a different green speed. Thus each tier would play at or close to their habitual green speed:

    A) Tour Legends, Legends, on Tournament (12) greens
    B) Tour Master, Master, Tour Pros on Very Fast (10) greens
    C) Pros, Amateurs, Hacks on Standard (8) greens.

The final round would be common for all, on Tournament greens.

Good plan. Heh. Except it's winter and the creative juices are flowing freely at Bridgestone. We have 10 of our 12 slots spoken for. One is my Handicapped Uneven Lies. No wind as an option for that particular challenge would be extra nice.

Nice thing, and good work! It's more quiet over here.

    BTW, how do you handicap?

The HC I do only involves UL rounds of 18. There are only 14 - 15 members who participate. It's not too much trouble to track these in a spreadsheet that calculates the same way the USGA does it. Players report any WGT rounds they've done for inclusion.

One problem at the beginning was assigning Rating/Slope for the 9 main courses, no Bo? or Cartoons. This is what we came up with. Certainly not perfect, but works.

    Oly 74/150

    Oak 73/147

    Merion 72.4/142

    RSG 70/135

    Kia 71/135

    StA 69/130

    Congo 70/123

    Pain 65/126

    BPB 66/120

The spreadsheet is one I wrote years ago for my real golf game. It translated to Google Dox fairly well. Macros don't work, so I'm forever having to Sort and Resort.

    ----

The easy rating for Pain may surprise, but in UL, it really is one of the easier ones. I most always make it VF greens to lessen the turtle back quality of the greens.

Very interesting but time consuming I think. Good to hear that you have double use for the spreadsheet.

Is the rating common for all tiers, or are they limited to one or a few?

    ---------

We have begun to test a straightforward modification of single scores by tier and average. I use Access to calculate the results (helps in sorting, amongst others). Time will show if it works well.

Not that bad. It takes about 20 minutes a week of my time.

Yes. I know that's not how the USGA does it, but this way, the lower tiered folk get a little bit more of a break. My main focus was to just get more people involved with UL, which it has done. It's nice to play a round where 3 under is darned good.

If I could use Excel by itself, it would save me bunches of time. Too bad someone can't come up with a script recorder for Google Dox. Oh well.

We use something like that as well for the majority of our tourneys. Since mine is so limited in scope, I just thought I'd try something a little more like how it's done for real. The only way it'd work for EVERYTHING would take a separate data grab program, and somehow I don't think WGT would think too kindly on that. :^)

On another note, I see that you also have some fun checking into the sandbagging, multi-accounting WGT Players tab. Many haven't played in ages.
