Starting in Feb. Player/CC Sponsored Tournaments

So we will be rolling out something new starting in February.  We will be giving individual players or Country Clubs the ability to sponsor a tournament on our weekly and monthly rotation.  What this means is clubs can use this as a way to draw new members by hitting a wider audience that may not come to the forums.

The sponsor fee will include the ability to select a weekly or monthly tournament, a description of your club or about yourself, choice of course, choice of game settings, and choice of payout format.

    Example - The WGTdbloshoe Tournament

    Weekly

Bandon dunes - Back Tees, moderate wind, 13.5 green speed.  Payout to top 10.

We would then build this tournament to start on the next week or month.  We would remove the fee from a single player or multiple depending on what was wanted.

Another option we will be offering, we have done before but on a small scale.  We have manually entered players into a special tournament.  Usually this was done for high stakes games, we are now opening this option up to any clubs that want to challenge another club, or maybe a group of friends who aren't in the same club but want to play against each other in a tournament.  Again whoever sponsors this will be able to choose course and conditions as well as payout options. The fee again will be taken from a single player or from multiple.

To start this will be done exclusively through the forums.  We are going to limit it to 3 tournaments a week and 5 monthly.  For the second option we are going to limit it to 5 a month to start.  If the demand is high enough we will expand it.  Feedback is welcome and if you are interested you can contact me privately.

We are trying to do two things here, give clubs a new way to recruit as well as giving players a new way of highlighting friends or themselves.

I guess the 1st question is: How much is this going to cost the sponsoring club?

It will all depend on which option you choose and length of time.  It's new, I would say sponsor fee is fluid right now.  I would guess starting in the 3,000 credit range.  Which again can be spread out between a number of players.

Are passes in play for any reason other than to give your CC XPs like they do now? In other words, is this going to be legitimate competition or a disguised version of who can buy the most?

Sounds good.  Thanks for the effort.  Hopefully it works out.

Is it also possible to one day allow CC's this same ability inside their clubs?  Instead of forcing us to get creative in ways we pay out when we sponser events.

No passes at all.  These are going on our weekly and monthly rotation.  So you would see it on the tournament page just like the others and enter just like the other tournaments.

The bank will help with that.  Still no exact time frame on it though sorry.

Just making sure I understand this correctly, Mr. Shoe.

I say I'll sponsor a weekly with 4000 cr and choose the venue, you guys set it up the following week and deduct 4000 from my account. Then anyone can enter and play it for free and when it's over, players will be paid out from those 4000, minus the WGT rake (I'm assuming there will be one ;-) ).

I love the idea, but even more the second invitational option.

The payout at the end of the tournament will be the same as we payout for all of our tournaments.  The only way it would change is if you select say the Top 10 only would be paid. The fee really is just so you can sponsor it and have us build it.  It's not really designed to cover the payouts.

But you are correct any players in the game would be able to play the tournament for free.  No entry fee, no passes required, and no special equipment needed.
