It's really a moot point to me,since I live in one of the excluded states ( Illinois), but I read the fine print .... and it disturbed me:
To participate in a Challenge, you must first select the type of game
you would like to play on the Challenge Page. If you are proposing a
Challenge to another user, you must select a user as a challenger that
has selected the same type of game and select how many WGT Credits you
are willing to submit as your share of the WGT Credits for that
Challenge with such user. If you accept a Challenge that another user
proposed, you agree to match the same amount of WGT Credits as that
submitted by the user that proposes the Challenge you accept. In
addition to the Credits submitted by each player for the Challenge,
each player will pay the same, a separate fee to WGT for the Challenge
game which will be equal to 10% of the amount of Credits the player
submits for the Challenge as a payment made solely for the operation of
the services and facilities necessary to participate in the Challenge
(the "Participant Fee"); provided, however that. the Participant Fee
will be equal at least ten (10) credits per player and will not exceed
one hundred seventy-five (175) credits per player, regardless of how
many WGT Credits are submitted by the participants in the Challenge.
When you participate in a Challenge, the amount of the WGT Credits that
you challenged plus the Participant Fee are immediately placed on hold
within your account. At the conclusion of the Challenge, the
Participant Fee will be subtracted from each player’s account. The
person that earns the high score in a Challenge will receive the total
amount of WGT Credits that where put up for the Challenge by the other
player. For example, if you propose a Challenge to another user and
submit 100 WGT Credits as part of the Challenge, the other user is also
required to submit 100 WGT Credits, the user with the best score in the
Challenge will earn 100 WGT Credits from the other player. WGT will
charge each player 10 WGT Credits for the Participation Fee.
Ok .. correct me if I read this wrong, but, as I understand it, WGT will charge both players a fee for handling the wager. That means you put up your wager PLUS a 10 % Fee. If the wager were 100 credits, the winner will in effect actually win 90 credits ( 100 minus the 10 %) ... but the loser will lose 110 credits ( the wager PLUS the 10 % fee).
And I almost missed that the MINIMUM Participation fee will be 10 credits.... so any wager less than 100 credits will be more than a 10% fee. Ex .. wager is 25 credits ... they will put a hold on 35 credits for BOTH players ( the wager plus the min. fee of 10 credits) ... Now the winner will only clear 15 credits, and the loser will find him/herself 35 credits to the poorer.
Good thing I live in Illinois ....lol.
