This may seem weird but after today's "course maintenance" all my clubs seem to have different calibrations making it extremely difficult to gauge distances. Any ideas why/ how this could happen??

My guess is that they will be introducing, an update to the putter pal for ur Irons and wedges.

"WORLD GOLF TOUR will, without providing notice, be making ongoing modifications and improvements to the Game Software from time to time in the course of the operation and development of the Site. Such changes may affect the performance and interaction of individual components of the games, performance of virtual items, contests and challenges available on the Site.

In addition, you agree that WORLD GOLF TOUR retains the sole and unfettered right to change, remove or modify the available virtual items from time to time (which may among other things make one or more virtual items more or less effective or functional, more common or less common, or eliminated entirely)."

makes a bit of a mockery as to why you would have wasted $30.00 odd dollars on top of the range wedges for them to longer function how they used to

This takes the pi55, imagine buying a new mercedes, then after a few months when you take it for a service, mercedes decides to pull out your 2.8 litre engine and install a 2.0 litre one, wouldn't ever happen LOL,

But not noticed any difference (yet) in gameplay of my clubs.  Maybe they've fixed some of the bugs with caddy, spin & wind.

I was wrong, in a ready go, my irons seem to be much less precise, i aimed where i usualy would for 160 yard iron in 10 mph right left wind, but the wind effected ball more like the long iron would. (but i put it down to the usual fixed outcome deviation full ready go's where everything is against you, end up withdrawing, but next one the deviation shackles might be lifted and you can score normally)

I even got a ball going straight for middle of hole LIP OUT!

Was thinking of selling back the totally useless lvl 35 Spider Ghost. Better keep hold of it in case they steal my Beginners putter.

Not noticed any difference in the way my wedges perform tho.

Edit Correction:- Full power seems ok, but dropping down the scale they're a bit different. Couple of hours tonite re-mapping-:)

You do wonder what they will do with "legacy" equipment. On their RL site, Ping has apparently retired the Raptures, G15s and G10s, moving them from the current lineup to the section "Classic Clubs". So I would expect WGT to stop selling them, too, and perhaps eventually to phase them out altogether. No?

    hmm..

checking out the new movements, I think this might be a good change. Before the 'taper'  was sort of strange, seemed like it wanted to be like a fourth-order bezier curve.

I never got a good feel for the taper, it was even hard to count how many movements you actually had in a swing, as some of the movements were bunched up together. Thus you could not trust anything below 2 avatar movements down from the top. (and even the 2nd down seemed off sometimes)

Before there were 18 avatar movements, now it is 12

Now, the new scale is close to linear at at the bottom and gets more logarhythmic at the top. I think the old curve tried to do this, but the middle was off. Now if you take 6 moves from the bottom, you are almost exactly in the center.

You have less avatar movements now, especially  at the top of the range. At first, this might cause you to think you'll have less "precision" now, but actually the opposite is true. I'll try to prove this postulate a bit later, no time right this second....

    Hey Birdwell!

Thanks a bunch for the insight! This helps me a lot! I just couldn't, or didn't take the time to try to figure it out but as you explain it, it makes a lot of sense.

I guess I should get back out on the course and test the theory! Exciting!

    Thanks again!

...Thanks yet again Birdwell! I just played 18 and your calculations are accurate. And, you're right, it's much easier to gauge the  distance.... looks like my game is back.
