As stated, I played a full 18 on Whistler for 1st time today and wow, what a hard course to play; for me anyway.  Those greens are impossible to read.  I could never figure them out. Ended up shooting a +8 and was lucky to get that.  Guess I need to play it a few more times to get the hang off it because I had several birdie putts that normally fall for me on other courses, but they just broke right around the cup on this one.  I love the challenge of the course, but green fees are kinda steep.

I don't remember what I shot the only time i played it but it really is a hard course to play. Mine might have been a + 5 or +6 and like you said i was lucky to get it. And
I didn't even putt on the 2 hardest greens to putt on or so I have read. I holed out for eagle on those 2 from around 90 yards out. So a + 6 with 2 eagles shows you how poorly I played the other 16 holes.

Check page 11 on the Courses->Whistler thread for the

course scorecard.  The greens slope towards Lost Lake.

How many people actually play whistler compared to other courses , i for 1 have only played there 3 or 4 times at the most , and walked away with my tail between my legs every time !    lol   : )

its too bad this course wasnt in the U.S.A.  i would love to see the U.S. Open played here and to watch the pros struggle around the greens.

Quite a few. It's been a Ready Go for for awhile now.

From Tee to Green it's quite easy, unless you end up in the valley of death.. can't remember which hole on the front9.. hit the Tree close to green and end up in there...lol

    The Greens are a nitemare.

This is true.  With a couple of exceptions, I was usually on the green in regulation

I know the valley of death quite well because I did exactly as you said.  I hit the tree on the approach and ended up in dense vegetation. It was so thick, it made St. Andrews fescue look like a putting surface.
