Just an observation here but why have the pins on this not been changed in the 8 months i been playing the game & chipping not disabled, I'm curious as i don't mind a hit there now & then but it seems to be the same few players that win it every month.

I'm not sure it would be possible. I think they'd have to do a new combination of holes. What do the mods say?

There is only 1 pin position on those holes. The only way to make new  pins for those holes would be to shoot new photos and it would not be worth the cost, As the previous poster said they could change up the holes or make a new starting spot for the existing holes.

As far as disabling chipping, why would they? It is well within the rules to use any club on the green.

Ahh ok i did not know they needed to take new photos, that's fair enough i guess & my take on the chipping is i feel that a "best of putting" competition should be just that Putting, I know it's well within the rules but this is a game after all, I'm prob not the only one to think like this but aye it's all good, To me it will be just that a game & i was just curious :P

There are actually a couple of pin positions on some of these holes on the course but I don't think that the CTTH games work that way.

In terms of chipping on the greens, while I don't do it, it is a perfectly legal shot, in fact one of the players did this at the Masters last week.  WGT has made it more difficult to chip from the greens over the past year, something that I fully support.  I don't believe that I can chip well enough from the greens to gain an advantage over putting, however I do see other players that are good at this, esp on a shot like the 2nd hole of the putting challenge.

In my mind it's sort of like hitting a 3 wood off the tee on a par four, the tee shot is meant to be struck with a driver but strategy tells you that a 3 wood is the best option.

I'm 1 of those people who are up there every month, and i do chip on the 2nd hole.....only. Its the only hole i cant get close on when putting. In saying that, i usually end up with a 6 or 7 foot distance from the hole on that shot. All other holes i putt all the time, as i can get closer doing it that way.

What i have done here is take notes on all the holes, including wind direction and power. Believe me, the wind can have a big effect when playing this putting challenge, and knowing the strength of it, and how it plays will leave you close every time.
