  Just been posting on this over on the Announcements & News forum. They don't normally photograph the US Open course this early. Merion and the Olympic Club were done in September and December respectively. I honestly think that something else is on the way for next year besides Bandon Dunes.

  Merion was done last September. Check Mister WGT's twitter timeline. Olympic Club was done even later.

  Maybe in production then but they were at Merion 331 days before the start of the Open. MrWGT took a picture of the countdown timer when he was there. They shot Pinehurst last month.  :-)

  "It was about the WGT helicopter photographing the Pinehurst #8 golf course. Interestingly, WGT was back at Pinehurst last month, five years later, shooting Pinehurst #2 for next year's Virtual U.S. Open. "

  Maybe he was at Merion last summer but the actual aerial photography wasn't done until September. Olympic's wasn't done until December 2011. This year, it's been done in June. There must be a reason.

  All this is kind of to my point that WGT's communication strategy with its customers is pretty inscrutable.

  Oakmont was obviously done in the Autumn (Fall) by the colour (color) of the trees. It'll be great to have Pinehurst it looks like a great course. Tahoe next?
