Why does it say 352 yards in the black yardage box TL and Legend tee (upper right on screen)and yet when you place the pin marker aimer on the hole it only reads 311 with 11 yard elevation, makes no since at all and how is a person suppose to judge what shot to take from the tee to give an exact approach shot?,if this is a glitch WGT it really needs to be fixed.....

Ok I just took the shot the correct yardage is the 311 shown when you place the aimer on the pin,,,WTG how many more holes on other courses are off according to the black yardage box upper right compared to actual distance,it sure messes with a players head when the yardage stated is so far off???????

i think they follow the line from tee to fairway markers? If there are markers that is - maybe center of fwy then? - if you cut the fairway - you cut the distance - clear example is Merion #10

i could be wrong but 100plus showed this to be true even on Kiawah hole over the pond - funky cam angles are tricking the eyballs vs the posted #

Even so Duff when you take the aim marker and place it over the hole #10 Cabo it shows 311 yds,not the 352 posted in yardage box upper right corner of screen, there is no dogleg,it's a straight shot as the crow flys  ........very confusing to say the least...anyway I drove the green far left and saved a bird....

The hole yardages are never done by "as the crow flies". The hole yardage for the 11th is done by playing down to the middle of the right fairway and then the approach shot. This makes it a dogleg. Just because it's driveable doesn't mean it's not a dogleg. All dogleg holes are measured in this way.

Dazza you must be talking about hole 10 on Merion,I have been referencing hole 10 or 11 on Cabo where there is NO dogleg........

Dazza is correct. There are two fairways on Cabo 11, right with dogleg, and the left one which is more as the crow flies. The hole is measured for an average length player who can't drive the green and plays round the dogleg to afford themselves the best shot into that pin. Apart from this and Merion 10, you will find this on any drivable par 4. The distance WGT gives you is measured to the middle of the fairway (at around 250yds I think) then to the middle of the green. You only get the straight-line yardage to the hole by moving your marker to the pin.

Flag stick placement also affects actual yardage relative to the 'advertised' yardage at the tee box.

The point is, Par 4's and Par 5's are measured from  (pick a tee marker vs card) to a fairway shot, then to center of green...regardless of distance to flag stick.

Par 3's (on cards-not here on WGT) are measured from marker on tee box to center of green as well, WGT gives us "tee to stick" distances, I assume to avoid confusion.
