Make the leap to Legend, your average will go up, the greens will be faster, at the beginning you'll probably think WTF?

What you will actually do is, learn to play the game again. Tee shots will need to be longer and straighter, the once 2nd shot of 120 yards and a wedge will now become a 3, 4 maybe even a 5 iron, trying to get the ball to stop on the green, an example being Bethpage #5, from the back tees you fail to make the fairway from the tee, you can forget about reaching the green in 2, you'll be laying up, looking at if your lucky salvaging a par.

The second shot you hit there will need to clear the bunker at the front of the green with enough backspin imparted to allow you to stop the ball on the putting surface without going into the rough/fringe at the back.

You'll have to start implementing a course management strategy, you will learn the game again, and take my word for it , you will actually enjoy it, as you did once before.

I like reading old posts when they come up....

The comments in this post is harsh and oh so very true. Well done Andy, I like it....lol

If anybody thinks getting promoted to a new Tier is great...  think again.  The game changes from the time that lovely message pops up saying congrats....lol

One should never be scared to get promoted to a new Tier, but you should be ready for the game to get harder and as Andy said.... Give it time and You will actually enjoy.

Ok I have commented on a few post's but my question is, what

is the best way to earn points?

If you mean Experience Points (XP), the best way is to play at least 1 hole every day so you earn the maximum Consecutive Day bonus of 880 XP each day, starting with the 6th consecutive day.

Some country club members get a few % of extra XP when they play. IIRC the CC I am a member of, each member gets a 4% XP bonus each time they play.

    Play in stroke play tournaments.

Play multi-player stroke play. The number of players effects the XP awarded.

I get between 1300 and 1450 XP for playing 18 holes.
