I do have question for everyone

I know about the average and the number of ranked rounds played to get to the next tier.  How does alt shot, match play effect the move up process?

I recently ran across a Legend that has a number not yet in the teens for total # of ranked rounds played, has an average of almost 69 in those ranked rounds but is listed as having a 61.00 (the other average is in his stats).  He does however play a lot of match play and alt shot.

Alt shot is not included in tier progression. However Match Play was recently added and you can progress faster by defeating players in higher tiers.

    Cheers,

No other games than strokeplay and matches count in, matches only if played before Legend and won against a higher tier.

Furtheron, only the scores of the current tier count in.

This guy is supposedly special - he will not have played a single strokeplay round as a Legend(?). Thus, his average is still the value of his last promotion.

I have seen one or two of this kind, who - at some point of their career - stop playing strokeplay. They achieve their rises only by those matches against higher tiers. Starting as a TP or Master, they gain by not posting scores. Thus, the matches drop the score from the last threshold. 67 => 63 => 61. The minimum no. of rounds is somehow eliminated.

The downside of this may be a lack of XPs - low level, impossible to succeed from the tips. A restart candidate.

    Alright, thanks for the input

Alosso you are correct, he hasn't posted any stroke play as a Legend............ Tour Master, and I think not even as a Master but can't remember for sure.

Yes it is and not mention the putts stop dropping but realize the game is trying to teach you how to play (putt) like it wants you to so if what your doing is not working try a different way, it's frustrating but it's working for me. I went from TM to Legend and when I was a tour Master I had to sandbag to stay there but I figured it was time to make the move. I'm not regretting it but darn the putts are a lot tougher I had to learn to move avatar instead of of center hits to get better but it is working.

Just made the move to Legend and you said it WTF LMAO!! As far as I can tell the putts were my issue so I had to learn to putt by moving my avatar versus off center hits on the putts that had a lot of break seems to be helping a lot. I will not lose  I will be a TL!!!!!!!!!!

This basically described me, minus the restart stuff.

I played stroke as a hack, amateur, pro, and tour pro.  Once I hit master (didn't take long) I basically gave up stroke and started doing almost all match.  I progressed through almost all of master and tour master that way.  I went up pretty fast, mainly due to the fact that tiering up became so easy. There are many, many junk TMs and Ls out there easily beat by someone with marginal skill.  It's also why my stats are pretty damn bad overall.  Match play doesn't count toward stats, so all my percentages and ratios are based on my actions as a new, lower tiered person (minus the bit of stroke I've been playing recently)

As a new legend, my gear was a total joke.
