Corwyn wins by default as he had more than one of my 'mind' picks.

Wow! I'm a winner! Thank you so much, Andy. What a great thread idea, and such a pleasure to see everyone's nominations.

But now I'm really curious to know which of my picks were your picks.... hmmm, perhaps Gareth Edwards' try, and Headingley 1981? Will you reveal the answer... and your own full set of greatest sporting moments?

    Thanks,

    Corwyn

Got it in one....the Baa Baa's try obviously and 'Beefy's' innings..the guy had panache !

Not a full set but off the top of my head then......

Rafa's win in the Wimbledon Final 2008..the guy's an animal and never knows when to quit..love his attitude ( a sporting Icon in my opinion )

    'Rocket' Ronnie's 5 min 20 sec 147 in the 19997 World Championship

    Maradona's 2nd goal in the 1986 quarters v England ( not the 1st one..CHEAT !! )  I'm over it honest :))

Too many F1 moments but in the last few years then Jensen's win in Canada, even Seb can get rattled on the last lap with Button coming from LAST at one point !

Michael Johnson's 200 mtr run in the 1996 Olympics ( even he couldn't believe the time )

    And finally  ( lest we forget )  Seve's celebration on the 18th St A's 1984 Open..apasionado no ?

^^ His scrambling stats would be amazing !

    Andy

Edit : might be another today...Rafa v Novak  if I could find a way to watch it !!!

    ( see other thread )

Sticking to Golf, how can any one forget last years Ryder Cup, when the USA had allready started engraving the trophy on the final day.lol Untill Europe spanked them in singles.

What about Wimbledon 1 Liverpool 0 F.A Cup Final ???

Or my favourite as I'm a Gooner: Arsenal needing to beat liverpool by 2 goals AT ANFIELD on final game of season in 1988/89, and good old Mitchel Thomas scoring in last minute to win League!!!!

Being Welsh too, Wales DESTROYING England in 6 Nations decider this year.

My son winning the Egg & Spoon race in his school sports day.  His training has began now so he can beat the school bully in next years sack race
