    ScottHope:

(To create a system restore point, click the start button, right click on computer, and select properties from the context menu. In the left pane of the properties window click system protection and then click the create button under the system protection tab, you will be presented with a dialogue box and prompted for a system restore point name).

OK my friend from across the pond.

When I hit the start button I don't have computer shown on the menu. Should I send my PC to you? I'll pay the freight, when it get's there hit it with a large hammer. lol.

Can do the same thing by right clicking the computer icon on desktop.

Instructions above are for win7 at least, not sure about xp/vista, haven't run it for awhile now.

Haha, I'm sure it doesn't deserve that. Okay, try control panel then system to get to the system information window.

@James, I'm sure that your PC is wonderful but it doesn't really help TF a great deal.
