It may look like a large target, and from the standard tees it probably is for most decent golfers. But if you go back to the parking lot tees, it's listed as being 218 yards (though the actual yardage varies from day to day). But I digress...
To answer your request for TPC Sawgrass, I wouldn't count it out as being a future WGT course, but I doubt it will ever happen since;
1; WGT's owners have been a bit complacent recently, since they already have eight courses in the game and are guaranteed more from the USGA partnership for years to come.
2; EA still hold the PGA Tour licence, and the TPC network of courses is owned by the PGA Tour (hence why so many tournaments are held on TPC courses).
