Over the years I have had the meter run perfectly for short periods of time running ok some more of the time running mostly ok but with some glitches that send my ball far of the fairway for most of the time and unusable for the rest.
The meter problem is not a network issue. If the network was involved at all the meter would simply not work. The complete shot gets downloaded to your computer before the meter starts it job and than just submits the results to the server after it ended running.
The main problem is that the WGT developers are not particularly competent. They decided to use the wrong tools for developing the game and now have big trouble to keep running their database and program code well enough to provide the WGT service on PCs at all. I partially understand the program code part of the WGT problems. But the database part of it is hard to excuse.
After sending another ball into a bunker on a meter glitch short before trying out the Winning Put game with its flawless meter operation my patience with the WGT version of a meter is even more reduced.
