  i haven't read the whole post but most of you should HANG YOUR HEAD IN SHAME !!!

  ALEX asked a question and you all come on here cyber bullying him...WGT should stop this sort of thing......(not meant for the guys giving advice)

  ive played him a few times and hes always been polite and friendly..

  Maybe just maybe Alex has Autism and has a fixation with numbers and starts ?????

  think of what you say before you walk a mile in another mans shoes....

  I do not take offense at people belittle me. Because i trash people too . its all in fun. But some take things too seriously.

  Alex knows.....he takes as good as he gets - applaud for that, but his entire body of work is what some of the replies you speak of are really inspired by - not so much one topic.

  I'm guilty of bashing him - I will tell you though - it's not for lack of caring - I want the kid to see his own reflection in what he calls 'my words' - might happen, might not, but he takes it well.  (that's pretty much me trying to be his mirror .....as he calls it......I think)

  so I guess ya gotta know the whole story else it's just an editorial that itself doesn't consider the entire story.

  - topically - Alex, check the total putts taken stat - then consider how many putts one must take to make any category % change -  the more that are taken it will require a larger amount made to move the #'s you're looking at.

  say someone has only 1000 total putts in their wgt life so far - the numbers would move more rapidly with fewer additional putts beyond the 1000 than say the persons stats you're looking at who may have 10,000 total putts which would require far more additional putts to change anything?

  i'm probably wrong - but to make a percentage move quickly - one would rely on a small # of total putts.  Take more.......and it takes more to make em move.  tough duty.

  therefore I conclude someone with 10 times the total putts I have with even better stats than me is by far a better putter then I am and always has been.

  how far off am I on that one mags?

  No shame here Stevie,lol. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. In other words, "it's a two way street" regarding Alex, his trash talk and other people he engages with. Please refrain from trying to instruct other people that you have never met personally / online in mannerism, it doesn't reflect well on yourself to comment on situations when you don't know the full story. After all, Alex admits doing it himself (trash talk) to get a rise out of other people, can't expect a non-response to Bullchit and immature forum posting.

  Numbers can be misleading. DANSAMCAM has made over 55000 putts while you only have over 8,000. That can make a difference in the whole picture as he has probably  missed  many more than you but in thousands of more tries. Making a long putt is always hard but if you try 300 times and he tries 30000, probably you made 15 but he made 1500 ...something not easy from all hole locations and courses. Also add that he frequently plays RGs, where conditions tend to be harder and green speeds change all the time. I myself have left so many long putts 2 inches short that I sometimes think they put a pebble in front when I putt.

  Actually WGT putt stat is JUNK. Its not avg by attempt. its is basically % of putts you made. So it give no additional info 

  My assumption was putts made/ putt attempted for each category , actually it only shows % of putts made in each category of all putts made.

  Potentially miles off Duff!!! Sorry, hehehehe ;-)

  Putting stats reflect your whole history in the game. So if you have a relatively low number of total putts compared to someone else, a greater proportion of your stats would comprise the putts taken while you were learning the game and using rubbishy equipment.

  So if someone has slightly better stats than you but 10 times the total putts, you are probably the better putter. If their stats are miles better though, then they probably are the better putter. One thing for sure is if they have fewer total putts and better stats they are much better.

  thanks Mags - as are most of my conversations - verbal and written - I spend the next hour wondering what I just said and if it's what i meant to say lol.

  how you explain makes perfect sense (yes.....i had to read it 3 times)

  I must be missing something... I don't get how any of this is going to help you or make you any better. Stats are what they are, knowing them isn't going to make your stats magically drop.
