  I use the 30ft meter on 5-8ft putts.  I subscribe to the ram it in philosophy rather than falling in the door drunk.

  I like the 10 footer for 3-4ft putts, or longer putts with severe downhill.  I like to know exactly where 4 feet is rather than guess where it is with the 30 footer (I'm old school, I don't use ShotPal or PutterPal and never will). 

  Plus, and this is probably just perception, but it seems like the ball comes off a lot softer on a 10ft meter versus the 15ft.  But like I said, that's probably just me wanting to believe that.

  Heh, whatever works, I suppose. I'm with you one the aids, they're still subject to the eye angle you view them at. Avatar moves are empirical marking points that never change and don't cost anything. LOL

  What helped me immensely on the little putts is to establish a "minimum" hit. (It happens to be 1/2 the first move on the 15 scale and I have a mark on a piece of tape under the meter for this.) As you know, those little putts break first and ask questions later if you baby them and that mark eliminates the guesswork for me. :-)

  Yeah, once I started using the 10 footer (on 4ft increment) suddenly everything was falling off the table.  Took me a while to adjust to that (I had never really used anything other than 30 before), but once I did adjust it was nice to be able to miss and not be 7 feet past the hole.  Although, I have jammed a few shorties in with the 30 ft meter because I was afraid of the break and basically just crossed my fingers that they would go in.  Most did. A few did not and that was painful.

  I guess I lied, sorta.  I have used the ShotPal once and tried to take a few shots with it.  I find the demarcation lines to be distracting.  It was harder to follow the meter, so once I took note of where 90% was (right in the middle of the "O" in "Original")  I stopped using it.
