    I personally recommend running

AVG or Avast free(I use AVG)....

Zone Alarm free firewall(I like programs that alert me whenever something on my pc is trying to access the internet)

Winpatrol free to protect your registry....

I still get some bad files but those programs stop them in their tracks...

Apologies for causing you to think Malwarebytes was a replacement for Norton SPIN01, it isn't. Please install an antivirus program ASAP.

The best antivirus is between the seat and the keybord of the PC. Use an antivirus anyway who never caught something, programs usefulls are MWB, CC and/or search&destroy for malwares, crapwares, trackers etc. than you cannot avoid to get on the web.

Kaspersky, Trend Micro, and McAfee are upscale security suites.

If you do your banking online with Barclays, then you can get Kaspersky for free.
