The punch with all the wedges is very useful. Maybe i am using it too much but I use the pinch with my wedges for than I do the full shot. And with the new Callaway balls you don't have to worry as much about the roll out either. Just fire at the pin.

    GoodyChamp:

1 other shot can provide u far better stats around the green..... the punch

...very usefull from the thick stuff 2. My 50yds wedge has an 41yds punch shot and anywhere between 15-41 yds from the pin, depending on lie and wind, it's very accurate.....I would say, try it yourself

    Cheers, GC

I use it a lot as well, forgot to mention it thanks.

I'm newish to this game....few days involved...but I kinda agree on the difficulty around the greens. To say it's realistic is a litlle off key imo. For my score to get better than my average of 80, I need to improve the chips and pitches from within 50 yards. A realistic way is to get some decent backspin on these greens where when it hits the green it doesn't roll 30 yards when you clearly have the backspin option tagged. Even the crappiest wedge in real life can put some good backspin on a ball where it would at least stop within a few feet of where it lands. I mean I see golf on TV all the time and these guys can even put a little english on the ball. I can normally get very close the the pin or within it and with decemt backspin on it it would stop reasonably but in this game, it's impossible. Games like Tiger Woods or Microsfot Links or Hot Shots you can put backspin on it all day and get some decent scores, but this in here is crap shoot. I could normally get a handle on the above mentioned games within a few days but this one is a puzzler to get the ball anywhere you want unless you drive it into the fairway(which I do frequently). Around the greens, good luck on that.

For me the backspin issue is one that imo has to fixed. Other games backspin is important and can be done. I haven't been able to in this one. Maybe in lower tier levels it should be taken away cause it just doesn't work. It hasn't for me yet. I could break 70 easily if I this feature worked for me.

On the other side, I can't say a whole lot cause there seems to be quite a bit of users in here blowin this game outta the water. They must have figured out the little nuances to be successful.  Plus you don't have to pay a dime to play and the graphics are way nice.

maybe someone could mention a wedge that has good or exceptional backspin in the pro shop?

    :)

With the clubs you have you will never back the ball up. That being said you can get it to stop.

Leave yourself a full wedge shot.... anything less will just roll out.

Learn the greens and where to land on them.

    Read THIS.

    Happy hitting
