Grown-ups should know how to handle these cases without whining.

So what your saying is we should just put up with things we disagree with and say nothing. Nice.

The rules of WGT are just rules. We, the paying customers, can comment on,complain about and campaign for change of these rules as much as we like in these forums. - and all of that is within the rules. !!

Correct, WGT rules are just rules.  BUT, WGT tries to adhere to the rules of golf.  Hence the ball rule.  A lot of us here are Golfers and we UNDERSTAND this rule.  The Gamers do NOT.  So maybe WGT SHOULD DQ those that don't have enough of the balls to complete the round.  Treat it just like some of the games out there today, die before the checkpoint and have to replay the level again up to that point again.  Yes I game also, but am also a Golfer,  I do understand the rules of golf.

Maybe this is where the actual problem lies.  So, if the shoe fits, wear it.

Edit.. Alosso, this was not directed to you.

Me thinks that gamers might understand the reason for this particular WGT rule better than we golfers do.

Golfers are used to have their own golf balls in their bags, mostly in variety. They keep them as long as they like and may not look at the type. This variety would be more complicated to program in this game and detrimental to the company's revenue. Gamers may easier accept that these are consumable supplies with a lifespan at the company's discretion, thus creating a steady flow of credits. (to be precise, it's a limited software license, probably common to most FTP - PTW games).

I don't pose the Q how many balls I use or how many are in my inventory. More important to me is, how much do I spend for balls => for the game in a certain time span. When I receive the ball alarm, I buy a new sleeve - nothing easier than that.

I'm quite content with the current setting because it allows me to spend as much
as I want or afford. Any change might be a change to a worse scenario
    - it better stays as-is.

    My two Pfennig.

I would agree that is true of  the casual type of golfers.

When I played competitive golf my bag only contained several of the same make/model of ball. Not because a tournament committee had invoked the One Ball Condition, but so I knew each ball I had with me would perform like all the others in my bag.

I agree. By being able to select your backup ball you could utilize some of the gift balls you receive for tournament entries and etc. As it is now I don't use these balls for fear of loosing them and having to play with the "rock".

    select your backup ball

This would be one of the changes which I fear. It would shake the economical balance of the game, and we all know that prices only rise...

well said dude , if your like me you wont start a game with just 1 ball in case you lose it or whatever so in reality your only getting 2 balls not 3 when you buy balls . I have about 25 balls with 1 life left i should be able to play them anytime ty

Or practice/non-tourney games, both real life and here.   But now we ask WGT to make programming changes between the 2 different venues?  We think there are bugs now!!!.  Also the new question would be,  Why can't we have it the same in both.

Agree on the popup ball buy window.  Most of my new ones are purchased that way.  If I don't have the credits, that is my fault for starting the game with not enough balls.  I have others, that don't work as well or I am not as familiar with, that I could have brought in.  Playing by myself it's not big deal to leave the game.  Wilh others, I am screwed, will stick it out and know I should have known better.

And yes, just like here.  Bridgestone, nike, taylormade, you name them, all hit different.
