  I went to this post and found myself crying prior to making it to page 2.  There truly isn't anything on this planet that will love you unconditionally like a dog.  

  I have never lost a dog, but I do own three that have stolen my heart.  I'm not looking forward to the day I have to say my final farewell to any of them.

  I am happy that you have a replacement.  (Hide the shoes!!!!!)  I know you'll always remember the great times you had with Sonny!  And I would love to believe, as Jimbog said, he'll be the first to greet you when you cross over to the other side!

  I have lost two great Akita's in the last 10yrs. Heartbreaking when the time comes. I can really feel your pain, it softens with time. Great looking pooch!!!!
