This course is a joke. If you hit a ball into the sand, it's impossible to predict what kind of distance (if any) you'll get hitting out of it. Most of the time you're lucky if you can get 25 yards out of a shot.

They should just give you the option of picking up and going to the next hole, once your ball is in the sand.

Not that you can't help but hit into the sand in the first place....you can ding drives and the sand will still attract the ball like a magnet.

As a matter of fact, fairway bunkers in this game are a joke. It's impossible to get any kind of distance out or a fairway bunker shot.....may as well just chip it out and take your one stroke penalty. That's not what I see when I'm watching the PGA or LPGA.

Hit the ball not the sand at Pinehurst, usually a 10-15 lie...and practice practice etc...

    absurd

Not that you can't help but hit into the sand in the first place....you can ding drives and the sand will still attract the ball like a magnet.

Not really if you hit it right...

As a matter of fact, fairway bunkers in this game are a joke. It's impossible to get any kind of distance out or a fairway bunker shot.....may as well just chip it out and take your one stroke penalty.

Sometimes chipping is the best option, 2nd only to not hitting in the bunker to begin with...

That's not what I see when I'm watching the PGA or LPGA.

You don't because they don't land there very often, when they do they hit good shots because they practice them for hours and hours...

this might have a little to do with it too...

    Green in Regulation % 61.70%
Avg. Distance to Pin 18 Ft.
    Sand Save % 30.72%
    Scrambling % 29.86%
