in the last few games i have lost 3 balls on my second shot on the 3rd hole, and almost lost another 3.

on the drive i usually get behind that fairway bush and i have a clear view of the green, however, when i line up the shot around 60ish yards i find the balls goes sharp left and gets lost into the weeds, its almost like a shank.

    can anyone explain this?

Nope never done that. From that position I would be pretty confident of getting close to the hole.

I must have played that hole at least 500 times but closer to 1000. Never lost a ball.

Perhaps if it goes left, you could adjust by aiming more right?

Only thing I can add to this for the OP is that I have done the same and seen others, and every time its because the aim marker is no on the green but in the direction they want the shot to go.  Try putting the aim marker on the green, then hit.  when you do it the other way from just the player view and choosing a shot direction the angle you are hitting at is way off but looks right.

Hard to explain, I did the math on it and will try to find it for you.

neil's got it. Sometimes the aimer triangle is nowhere near the hole. The only way you can be sure is to look. This has happened a few times for me but I rarely trust the default aim because of that "once in a while."
