Shot a 68 and made some long putts for par. Great course. I really like it. I enjoyed the round and it seems Oakmont is much tougher than Congressional. The only thing I don't like is the length. I had some long irons into the greens but, its a US Open course and I didn't expect to get a lot of short irons in. Also, I think the hole seems bigger on Congressional than the other holes. Did anyone else think this? I really liked Congressional. It was a great course.

Not overly impressed with it UK. S'ok I suppose. I wouldn't say that Oakmont is much tougher though (played it so many times now I can just about par it lol) The fairways are tougher on Congress I reckon, very narrow (miss the ding by a fraction, which I did a lot, and you're in the rough . . . or worse lol) A couple of holes over 500 yards as well I seem to remember, thought they should have been par 5's, not 4's. Not sure about the holes being bigger, if they were . . . nobody told my putter!! lmao

Nice to have another course to play at last though . . . thanks WGT

I wasn't overly impressed with it but I figured I would struggle. I just shot -7 twice now. Nothing too spectacular as I'm sure that score won't qualify but, I don't shoot scores like -7 on an 18 hole round often. The fairways have been easy for me to hit for the most part. The greens can be tough but they aren't fast like Oakmont. WGT did a great job with this. Some hole are in really tough spots and if they didn't tuck them in some corners 59 would be hte qualifying score. Congressional is easily my favorite course on here.

Played it twice in stroke play and once in alt shot play.

The length is very difficult and the fairways are very narrow with unforgiving rough.  I missed 2 greens and on both misses I was in 60/70% rough around the green.  The greens were difficult but not as tough as Oakmont, although there were spots that were almost impossible to make a putt from.

Haven't played the qualifier yet but have been told the green speed is a little short of tournament level, I guess it is set at the tour master tournament speed.  The 10th and 18th holes are visually very tough, even with a good tee shot on 18 I was left with about 220 to the green that is mostly surrounded with water and downhill.

Great additional to the course rotation on here.

This is a great course. Although it's a lot longer than Oakmont it is MUCH easier than Oakmont was. Most of the Par 4's were three-shotters because I use default clubs. I shot a 81 my first try. But my second try I managed to shoot a 72 thanks to some long par putts and even a hole-out birdie on the 4th hole.

Agree is easier than Oakmont and find the chipping & flopping distances much more accurate than all the other courses.  Shot a 67 but every Putt has severe break so you have to be deadly accurate Every Time and also a bit lucky to shoot under par.  And still don't understand why WGT won't add OAK & CONG to the rotation when you 'Create' a game to play against others?  That cannot possibly be complicated for the Programmer to do so why aren't they doing it? ;)

The version of Congressional that we are playing for qualifying has green speed that is what I call tournament light.  It plays a little easier than Oakmont did when we qualified for it but when tournament play starts on Championship green speed I think it will be just as tough.  Definitely longer and the rough and traps are much more severe.

I have played severe alt shot rounds with fairly high winds and it can be tough under adverse conditions as well.  I think the Oakmont qualifying cut was 64 last year which was 6 under.  Probably take 61 to qualify at Congressional which is 10 under but we do have better balls and clubs and better players as well.
