WGT advertises that it is the closest thing to "real golf" in the virtual world. For the most part I would have to give the programmers high marks-except for "drop area" from water hazard. Whoever is responsible for where the ball is dropped from the hazard, doesn't have a clue.
#17 at Kia could get the sand, the tee, the other side of the lake or a lie that said "water" middle of the lake---#11 at Congressional--well its a joke--nothing that resembles true golf. Who would take a drop in 50-60 rough? or behind a tree?
A drop from a water hazard should be somewhere close to "line of flight" the ball is on at entry into hazard. On a par 3 the option to re-tee is always there in "real golf". That's the rule.
It's a shame, with all the detail that is given to Photographic details, that WGT won't give the same attention to playing charateristics---or maybe they just don't know that much about "real golf".
Here is an example of a "drop" courtesy of WGT!!
