What is the fate of Harbour Town ?
I doubt it will ever progress beyond what it is now, a CTTH challenge, just like Wolf Creek, Bali Hai and so on.
I think that HT might move into the full courses at some point. It is a PGA tour venue and is good enough to be on WGT. I frankly don't understand why WGT would spend any time and effort giving us CTTH challenges when they can make a CTTH out of every single full course, in fact they can make 3 CTTH challenges out of them as they have done at STA. This is a quality course hope to see it soon.
Its not listed in the future courses screen and that goes to 2019 so I wouldn't hold my breath.

Why is that it does host a US Open once every 10 years and a PGA tour event each year.

So far that only specifically covers US Open venues as they come up each year. That is not to say that other courses (like Harbour Town or the like) may not also be added in at some point.
Note also that while there is a clear commitment on the US Open venues, nothing has really been committed to by WGT or the R&A concerning British Open venues. So far it has been one year at a time.
Ok I knew about the USGA agreement and those tracts, which will be great and I think the British will end up being the same as the USGA. I do believe that WGT will bring on a few other courses each year though.
