Wow! Well, hopefully, at some point in your life you’ll figure out how to prioritize what’s really important. In other words, don’t sweat the small stuff.

    Mbarrettwcc:

The blue blends to the meter. I have color separation and minor sight issues. It is absolutely confusing to the eye. I have to adjust my ipad to awkward position to cover it when I finish a swing.

And having experienced a central retinal eye occlusion incident a few years ago, I have significant eye issues. So, I sympathize with your issue. Still, it doesn’t bother my play. And I play on an iPad.

    BrockBryn:

This is my first WGT Forum post and I’m at the Champion Level. Not sure that it matters, but I feel it’s worth noting to potentially help support my opnion on this topic.

Anyhow, I absolutely feel the wand effects my play, at least initially. I get frustrated not being able to adjust spin (which is a huge aspect to a score, imo) efficiently. I often have to adjust it manually, click-by-click, versus using the dot in the center of the ball. Further, when I attempt to close the “ball effect” window, it often opens up my profile, as the two are so close together. Multiply this happening 20-30 times per round, it adds to ones impatience and frustration. These added negative emotions can easily cost you strokes, as many of you I’m sure know how important confidence is in playing at higher levels and scoring well.

I'm over being impacted by it, but more than the blue ball and wand it was the message that pops up every time I go to adjust spin that bothered me, if only because I now needed to click in a different spot to shut the spin window. It's an ergonomic thing that messed with the rhythm of play that I'd gotten used to over many years. No reason to screw with stuff like that.

@everyone whining about closing the spin window...

Just tap anywhere on the left half of the screen and the spin window closes, just like before.

May be a marketing ploy, knew it wouldn't be a big seller, so they put it in an area that you use the most.  Maybe after downtime tonight, they will institute the next phase.  Purchase this and the blue ball and wand will go away.  Entice those that it bothers, to buy, and troubles are over.

I agree with the original post. It should be an optional extra for those that want it rather than permanently added to every players screen. Why couldn't they have factored in an option to switch it off in the settings? I love the game but this feature is completely unnecessary

I am a mobile player, and I take the game seriously. and yes, there are quite a few of us out there in WGT land! the wand, in and of itself, is a dumb money grab...but I am not the intended audience for it.

the actual issue, as was mentioned by the OP on page 2, is that it pops up EVERY time. it is visually distracting, and it slows play down because you have to wait for the pop up to load, then a beat before you can actually alter ball striking position for desired spin, then tap to the side to make it all go away. does it sound bad if you are a PC player and this (lucky you) doesn't happen? I can see how you think NO, and that we are whining...but it really is a flow killer and a pain in the butt.

if it is in the game, it isn't going anywhere. if they make a few bucks on it and enough people enjoy it, sure, leave it in...but with 1 simple "fix" if you would indulge me for a minute: dramatically reduce the pop ups. that's all. limit it to: 1) your 1st ball strike of the game. remind the world that you can, in fact, have a trail of hearts fly out of the ball every time you hit it, complete with kissy sounds...just like real life! okay I went off the rails a bit at the end, but the idea makes sense, right? a simple reminder of this add-on is all you need. 2) putting a new ball in play. be it hazard or too many hits, or whatever. but when they remind you "hey, you can buy another sleeve of balls right now!" just have the wand pop up then "and don't forget you can special effects too!" 3) at the turn if you are playing a full 18. I don't like this per se, but I could see how a pop up on #10 tee would be, to the proper target player, financially advantageous. and finally 4) when the "magic" feature wears off. to my understanding this only happens X number of times, so sure...if you already had it equipped, most definitely remind them to buy it again when it runs out.

So 1 up front, 1 at the turn, 1 for a new ball, and 1 when it runs out. that seems like a nice compromise, no? I can't think of a single type of player, even those looking for an arcade-like game, that start a round and get to an approach shot on hole 3 and think "man, I'd really stick this shot if I could just add a champagne trail". a player would either be using it already or they don't want it.

when did I get up on this soapbox? haha but seriously, WGT, keep your money making feature there, though a toning down would be VERY much appreciated by a bulk of your most dedicated players.

    @Higgs20

I've only played the mobile version of this game. It's not as bad as you describe.

    Annoying? Yes.

    A "flow killer"? Hardly.

By the way, just a friendly suggestion, if you could put some paragraph breaks in future posts that would help considerably with your posts' readability.

wow...do you have to go into the html editor to add the paragraph breaks?  or is my PC just being dumb?  I did not intend to have that look like a ridiculous run on, and I could have sworn a "double enter" used to work!

anyway, if it doesn't bother you Rob, all power to you.  It bugs me every time, and I guess my personal definition of "game flow" is different than yours...which is perfectly fine on both sides.  that is why I wrote in the manner I did.  we are talking mere seconds, if that, when it boils down to basics.  it isn't a "stop playing WGT" irritation mind you, just like gnats won't keep me from enjoying the outdoors.  my post was intended to be through, a little comical, and NOT a basic internet forum troll rant for the sake of ranting.

I was offering a relatively simple, IMO of course, solution that would be a win-win for the company and players alike.

Ok seriously, I don't understand the problem at all.

Played one of those 3 hole things on mobile last night, and not once did I accidentally click on the wand when trying to set spin on the ball, and I played on a pretty small display -- Galaxy S7.    Also..nothing popped up where I needed to click anywhere for it to go away so not sure I understand that issue fully there..
