  Did you find the Tri much better than the regular R9?  The meter looks a fair bit quicker but I manage fine with the new Burner irons which show the same speed so maybe.....

  Or I guess I could wait another few months for the R11.

  The super-tri can be a super headache if you don't ding the meter and with its unusual meter speed it was very difficult to ding with any kind of regularity. The meter speed itself was not too fast but as Jim said the last 1/3 or so of the meter travel it accelerated and that is what caused it to be hard to ding. Most of the other faster meter speeds were and are much smoother with the same speed through out the entire travel

  Another vote against it, that's enough to convince me.  Wonder why the meter is like that though?  A fast meter is OK but one that speeds up?  How are we supposed to play that well?

  The way I took it, it was supposed to emulate an actual swing IRL.Slow back swing, accelerate through the ball. The reward was worth the execution but the execution was tough.

All 3 of the TM drivers work really well and you don't have to sweat the accuracy-they all forgive nice nice. I mean seriously, how accurate do you need to be off the tee with a driver? Get in in the fairway and go from there and you can do that just fine with any of those drivers. Go for the distance, that will always trump. I miss to aim in high winds and the R9 was the best at it.

  Worry about the accuracy when you get to where you need it, namely the Legend level. GL

   

  I think I need to rephrase my question at this point. I am at level 65 and I already have the G10. Would it be worth the money to go ahead and buy the R9 at this point or would it be better to save the credits for the level 88 R11 and just live with the G10 for now?

  Have you considered the "Lynx". It's not costly and it is well worth the money.

  Given he time it's going to take you to get to level 88 I would go for the R9 now (heh-easy for me to spend your money.) There's a lot of golf between you and that R11 and IMO the forgiveness of the driver and the added distance will benefit you in the long run.

  The G10 has a higher trajectory than the R9 so will be more susceptible to the wind which is probably why the R9 consistently outdrives it. From your tees that difference in trajectory isn't a huge deal. It is from tees farther back. The extra forgiveness of the R9 is helpful if you're inclined to miss the ding or aim by missing.

  No it won't.

  Into a strong headwind the R11 loses slightly more distance than the R9. So the R9 with it's lower trajectory can get slightly more distance than the R11. But we are talking about 1 to 2 yards at most.
