When changing balls, the player is permitted to substitute a ball of another brand or type unless the Committee has adopted the One Ball Condition of Competition (see Appendix I; Part C; Section 1c). This optional condition (usually referred to as ‘The One Ball Rule’) is generally adopted only in events that are limited to professional golfers or highly-skilled amateur golfers. Generally, this condition of competition is not adopted in club-level competitions.

Because of nature of the many tournaments set up on WGT, the one ball rule has been put in place. Perhaps the answer would be to program this rule to be in play only for tournaments and thus allow inventory to be accessed during solo fun rounds.

All sounds good, but there's a flaw in the One Ball Rule; If a player runs out of a certain ball in a match, and the ball is replaced with a starter ball, that's not a one ball rule. If a player runs out of balls in a game, that player should be disqualified and expelled from the game. That's what would happen in real golf tournaments. The pro is not going to automatically get substituted for a starter ball.

4-4 a locks access to the clubs in the inventory in any game. IMHO, it would have been too much programming effort to distinguish between clubs and balls - thus "WGT's One Ball Rule".

The lack of creativity on the part of posters is one. I mean, what are we going to complain about next... players using their wedge on the green?

Searay: What would be wrong if WGT did disqualify players who ran out of their chosen ball during a tournament and refused to purchase another sleeve? Players are never forced to complete any round using the free white rock. It is the players choice to do so.

If, for whatever reason, someone has only one or two purchased balls that they can play with, and they don't wish to purchase more of those balls; they should start the round with the white rock. Or at least start with a ball that they intend purchase again so they are never "forced" to buy something they don't want.

I have a large inventory of free balls with varying attributes that I don't use other than CTTH tournaments or fun play rounds. When they are at the end of their lives (red zone) I know that I should throw them out or potentially finish a round with a white rock. My choice. But with tournaments I play my favorite ball and expect to purchase more when my supply runs out. I also know enough to keep several thousand in credits available for those times when I find the water two or three times in the same round.
