Tiff is right, depends on the irons you play,but..on 4 I always try to leave just right of the pin so it stops at around 2-3 yards from the hole.#5 is really self explanitory, downwind you are screwed, headwind you can get close.Plain and simple.

I believe its in the irons you use. The level 35 G10's are good starters, but when you are able to upgrade as you level up you will see big differences. Level 53 R9's will be a good upgrade, then the level 58 G10's will be a big help, but eventually the level 79 burner 2.0 irons seem to be the best. If you properly gauge the wind & distance & ding it....it will stick close.  Good Luck!

    DAZZA501:

He actually says "if i go right at it" meaning directly at it. Then "if i go right" meaning aim to the right.

Maybe you should re-read his post before commenting

    Just saying

Well, i learned to avoid/replace the same words in one sentence, while in this case 'directly' should/could have been used. Oh well, the liberty of the author, no?

Or was it the author of liberty...?

    (off topic anyway)

From the Legend tees with little or no wind I try to play #4 as far right as possible while avoiding the traps off the tee and then play my second shot right of the pin.  If you get it on the green you have a fairly flat uphill putt that you can make.  On #5 without a 10 mph headwind I rarely can get it close, I generally play right at the hole and take a 25 foot uphill putt for birdie and accept that I probably am going to make par.  The 9th hole proves very difficult for me as well to birdie.  It seems that the ball rarely reacts the same way on the front part of that green.

I play a little bit distance off the driver on #4, then with the confidence from the Burner 2.0 irons I stick it as close to the pin as I can. #5 is another hole where the Burner 2.0s are in a class of their own, I have the confidence to stick one 3ft left.
