  Just stumbled across this article. Seems pretty likely that the course will be gone this time next year.

  Obviously I have no idea what would happen to the WGT version of this course, and what happens to any rights WGT have. 

  Nevertheless, I'm sure we'll be able to play Bali Hai for a while longer yet. Although more course closures are bound to happen in the coming years. Hopefully none of the ones here.

  I guess reducing the outrageous green fees, and therefore allowing more people to play (especially the locals) wouldn't help the course?

  A quote taken from the site's blog:

  With the airport across the street already taking 40 % of the revenue and being a bazillion dollars in debt,  there no fiscal way to keep it a golf course.  The only green out there in the desert that's important. $$$
