Okay, now just a simply answer for this: After you lost your ball, why it have to change beginner ball? You have better ball in bag, why cant use that ones? If its possible, you need also after use it buy new ones earlier. Because there is that "durability" efect every ball...except beginner balls.

    Just asking!

If you lose a ball or run out of hits, the game will replace that ball with the exact same ball if you have more of them in your bag. If you do not the game defaults to the starter ball. The game will not substitute a different ball. Either an exact replacement ball or the starter ball, no substitutes.

    This is not quite correct.

One ball type is in your bag while the others are in your inventory - think of your garage, equally inaccessible during a round.

The major reason is, IMHO, that the bag is closed during a game, following the official Rules of Golf which forbid an exchange of clubs. Here, the balls are "collateral damage" of this fact (and early programming). They only forsaw the Starter as a common replacement.

    Is this a joke?

After 1,000 ranked rounds, you should be able to answer this yourself.

BTW: Different colour, different ball in this "rule".
