It has been suggested quite a bit already. Although it sounds fun, it would have to be something besides a ranked round. 9 holes would be a par 27, not a 35 or 36 like normal.

Who says it has to be a 9-hole course? How about a 12-hole par 3 course. Par 36 and everybody's happy.

I think what would work is a best of par 3 and par 5 course together. 9 par 3's and 9 par 5's. Par 72 would be ok for a ranked round. Wgt could even alternate the 3's and 5's so that the front 9 would be par 37 & back 9 par 35 so playing just 9 holes would be ok for a ranked round too.

That is an absolutely brilliant idea. I ain't a programmer, but I wonder if that would cause a hiccup in there somewhere since it doesn't fall into the 9 or 18 hole formula for round selection. Otherwise, seems the best idea yet for a pure Par 3 course, and definitely gets my vote.
