How popular are the CTTH courses among players? I did some research based on the February CTTH Sweeps.
A few points about the ranking and some personal thoughts:
- The courses are ranked according to the number of players who posted score.
- The number for Congressional may be skewed due to another Congressional Challenge running concurrently with the Sweep. The Challenge actually recorded more number (21625) than the Sweep (17294).
- What's the chance of winning the sweeps? It's about 0.32% if you played all 16 sweeps. To put it in perspective, that's about once in every 26 years. I'm sure y'all are thrilled about it. Keep in mind
- Three winners by random drawing get 500 WGT credits in each sweep.
- Only players in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, Japan, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, and South Korea are eligible for the drawing. So your chance may be slightly better if you're eligible.
- On the other hand, if those players who entered but didn't post a score are eligible for the drawing, - which, I suspect, is the case, - that will reduce your chance of winning.
- Consider February is the shortest month, I expect more posted scores and less chance of winning in all other months.
- Wolf Creek is the most popular course. Celtic Manor is a firm second. WGT, any chance of making either one or both into stroke play course?
- Least popular course? Best of Water Holes. -- What a surprise!
