I've seen several posts like this. The graphics is what it is. I personally like the elevation changes and unique challenges this course offers. Even though a wgt hd photos course is much preferred, I'd much rather have a trugolf course as an option to play than not get to play the course at all.
The biggest thing about scoring this course is the same as most other courses. Where to try and leave your approach shots. Some holes when the balls land will kick it hard to the left, others hard to the right. Some holes you have to land it long because your ball is going to spin back 12-15 ft anyway.
First several times I played bethpage15 I thought WTH, this hole is unplayable. For a very long time avoided beth back just because of this hole. One day played with another who showed me how to play it and with that knowledge, its now a birdie hole 7 out of 10 times.
Basically this is a course full of oak 9, ccc 11, cabo 18 and beth page 15 greens. Take notes when you're playing where to send your approach shots which holes need top spin, which holes need backspin approaches and each time around the course it will get easier.
Pair up with a buddy and play together trying different type of shots from similar approaches and see what works. I played 36 holes with icon this morning and sometimes just bouncing shot ideas off one another can get you thoughts to help you next time around. Darsum, I'd be happy to get on skype with you and play a round at whistler mate to share shot ideas with each other if you choose to give it another chance.
