I just got back into the game recently and have reached level 80. I did a search to get an idea what driver to get, but there doesn't appear to be a general consensus. Your opinions would be appreciated.

FYI: I just bought the 2.0 79 irons. Not doing so hot with them right now. The R9 would match the speed of the irons, but then again I think I may like the slower G20 speed.

    Decisions, Decisions.

Hello, i had r9 lvl 80 driver. And i must say it is very long, into the wind for sure. Not to hard to hit. I think though i would keep the driver you already have. I would wait till lvl 88 to get r11, dont waste credits. Your driver will work fine till then.

I have used the R11 and switched to the G20's full set.  The G20's are basically as long but have a much slower meter and more forgiveness.  IMHO the G20's are a great set of clubs.  If you can, rent both for a few rounds and try them out.  Good luck.

The G 20 is awesome. I don't even use my r 11 anymore. If being in the fairway is important the G 20 is best.

Agreed,   I sold the R11 when I got the G20,  yea a little shorter on some holes but for the most part I keep up with the R11 and even out drive it a lot of times.

The main thing is that I hit more fw's with it and that is worth it alone for me.

This is my opinion, G20 d, G20 3 wood , LVL 79 Burner`s, irons and Clevland Wedge. Thats all u gonna need. And as hpurey sad G20 out drive the R11 on many holes even the 3 wood are a bomber.

I like that combination.  Having said that, I've got a set of the Burners and a set of the G20 irons.  I almost sold back the G20s when I got the Burners, but I'm glad I kept them.  This has been a bit of a "slow" week as far as reflexes so I've put the G20s in the bag for the time being.

I like your setup, peoch, but I'd have to stick to my Rossa putter.  ;-)

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I went ahead and bought the G20 driver last night and the G20 3wd today.

I absolutely love them. Long, forgiving and a slow meter. I couldn't ask for more.

As for your suggested setup that is mine too a tee right now.

First round with my new clubs I shot 61 at Oakmont of all places.

Now if I could fix the occasional jumpy meter I would be in heaven. : )

I've had the 2.0 irons for about a week now and I'm still trying to get the feel for that sudden burst of speed near the end of meter.
