've had the 2.0 irons for about a week now and I'm still trying to get the feel for that sudden burst of speed near the end of meter.

That may never happen...you may ding more often over time, but not as much as with the G-20 irons, which match your woods. I still have the Burners gathering dust in the garage and do not miss the 'gap' between the PW and Clevelands at all which forced me to carry 4 wedges for a while, forgoing the 3 wood. Just not my cup of tea. I play the G-20 irons with full backspin as often as practical and they dead stop (just like Burners) with premium balls to or around the rated distance.

Very good point concerning the gap.  I like the G20 110 yd wedge better than the Burner 125 yd one.  Using the G20s and Clevelands makes for a nice, tight grouping as regards the short game:  60, 80, 100, 110 then a short jump to the 9 iron (125).

I might take a cue from skccvb and put the G20 hybrid in inventory to replace the 100 yd Cleveland for certain courses...the 110 yd wedge should minimize any resulting gap.

    G 20 , all the way dude !

Concur. I went for the R11 back around lv 35 - thinking I would not have to upgrade untill endlevel. And then I was gonna go for the R11 high level set.

Then at lv 58 when I was master, I found myself outdriven by almost everyone, and went for the G20 lv 58 driver. And have to say WOW. What an impact it had on my game. So now I go for the high level G20 set, and then stop upgrading clubs.

The G20's have great performance with a slow meter, but the truth is they simply do NOT perform as well as the R11's. They don't carry quite as far and I don't find the meter on the R11's fast at all.

If you've just made level 81, the G20's are hands down a great purchase and will easily last you a long time. Besides, it's will take a long time to get to level 88 anyway. By then, you may just want something different and getting slightly better performance to boot is a good thing.

    Buckeye8084:

I just got back into the game recently and have reached level 80. I did a search to get an idea what driver to get, but there doesn't appear to be a general consensus. Your opinions would be appreciated.

FYI: I just bought the 2.0 79 irons. Not doing so hot with them right now. The R9 would match the speed of the irons, but then again I think I may like the slower G20 speed.

    Decisions, Decisions.

This alone says R9. With a slower driver you're going to run into periods where you ding the driver and push the irons or ding the irons and pull the driver.
