Lately hitting the ding completely ruins a shot.

Shots aimed left of pin ....start off the club face right of pin and vice versa....depending on the wind direction.

Hitting the ding's been a waste of time for months now.....but recently it's even worse than useless.

Seems to be the ideal way of punishing those less scrupulous who use autoding proggies...but those of us who try to hit a tad early or late but are unfortunate enough to hit the ding...then the shot's goofed big time....and usually ends up way off course.

Strange...are you finding this true of all clubs, or just irons?  My skills are way behind yours, so perhaps I'm just not aware enough to notice the phenomenon.  Do you really think it's being done purposely to thwart the autodingers?

I have been saying this for months and hardly anyone will admit it's happening. The worst time I see it is in heavy side winds. I adjust a ton for the wind, hit my shot and the ball takes off straight to the pin, from there, wind carries it off.

It's screwy to get punished for hitting what WGT calls "perfect" line but until enough people gripe about it, it will stay that way, I guess.

I've only been here since late January, but have definitely noticed this phenomenon with side winds.

edit:  Up till now I thought it was just me...figured I was doing something wrong.

    What are autoding proggies.

I am a new player and have never heard the term before.

The ding only works with my driver. The ball will travel towards the aiming target.  Every other club, including my putter will not work.  If I ding it, the ball will start off at the original target point and not where I may have moved it... thus resulting in a bad shot.  You would think dinging a shot should be a reward, but not here.  WGT, fix this, OK?

Been noticing it too on a few occasions, not much, but put it down to good old deviation. But the odd occasion i'll ding a sidewind shot but ball will travell like i have missed ding on wind side, you cant win, aim more left/right to compensate this and wind will not efect ball so you are 5 yards away either side, lol

While ding is king, sometimes it ain't. I found that missing a pixel or 2 on the upwind side more often than not gets better results than hitting the ding. Easier said than done.

Maybe WGT is trying to emulate gusting wind conditions, when conditions are for heavy winds. The last couple weeks I have been less consistent at judging heavy winds effects on my shots. Obviously can't be my fault...lol

Just a thought about possible gusting heavy wind conditions.
