I am no where near the talent out there, but on occasion I have shot a 29. So if I put two together, would you call me a cheat?

    overtheedge:

As quoted and ironsbone has stated, it is the duel accounts and, password ex-changers that are the real cheaters.

all one has to do is look at  folks score histories to see who's been up to no good.

one minute they struggle to break 30 round st andies or kiawah......then all of a sudden they're shooting 55's round oakmont and 27's on whistler in rg's lol.

how can someone  struggle to break 30 in a ranked round round st  andrews...and front 9 of bethpage, then almost immediately go on to shoot 27's round whistler or 55 round oakmont or congressional in high roller rgs....it doesn't add up.

wgt could care less to be honest....but maybe one day they might open their eyes and see country/state ip  location mismatches in certain player(s) log ins.

for example someone from a continent outside the USA cannot have a USA IP address eh?

myself.....well i'd rather lose or come 2nd than live a lie to win credits or any game for that matter.

it all comes down to honesty.

all we get from wgt is "if you think there's been cheating going on email us and we'll look into it"....

my problem with that is without access to check ip addresses then it's going to impossible to prove...i mean it's an online game.....easiest way of proof would be to see for example someone in france using a texas ip address to play his/her game etc....you can be in 2 places at once.....so what's the deal?

i understand there are multiple users using the same ip address in familial homes etc.....so proving any wrongdoing there will be impossible.

nothing will get done for sure....

yes there'll be folks who say it's only a game.....but when there's high roller rg's or prizes of $1000 up for grabs or trips to US & UK Opens with a value in excess of $4500, then I think WGT need to stamp down on duel accounts & password exchangers.

wgt don't have to scroll through a ton of accounts....why not for instance and as a test, just check out the monthly earnings leader board. it wouldn't take long to check most or all of those players ip addresses match up or don't match up to their country or state and to be honest I don't think any of them would mind.

at least it would be a start.

either way....being seen to do something about it would be better than being seen to do nothing about it.

of course your ip address will change.

but you've given us a good enough reason why it will change barbarella.....so it's all good.

what wgt should be interested in are those player(s) who cannot justify why their ip location differs geographically from one game to the next etc....i.e USA IP one game....Somalian IP the next or Texan IP one game then Floridian IP the next.

sure....dynamic ip's will change a lot....but would show pretty much the same location if the person wasn't travelling.

i don't mind if WGT checks my ip address or ip addresses i've been allocated by various ISP's since day one on wgt....i've nothing to hide. I was in Paris last month and still have the Paris flight boarding pass which will explain me using a Parisienne IP for around 12 days.....from the 4th -16th of April. :)

Rest of the time I'm at home in Edinburgh....I need more holidays.

Back on the original topic though.....the true best players of this game.....they don't cheat.....they are just very very good at this game. All the 1000's of hours of time of practising etc does eventually pay off.

LOL! How did we go from players shooting low scores to "ALIBI'S"..lol I know I mentioned "duel accounts and password ex-changers" but nothing about anyone proving IP address..lol. Too funny.

I'm not calling anyone a cheat, but....I was disappointed to see a 49 TBH.  I thought that sh*t only happened on PGA tour (EA)  I love this game for its "realism"

I do believe these scores but man....You guys need to get out more.  33 hours to score a sub 50?  Wow

Thanks for listening...  Gary  TM only level 71      :)

a 49 was always going to happen sooner rather than later.

    nothing untoward there IMHO.

    congrats again to Don.

When I reached legend tier I stuggled as anyone. At that time, when I was looking at the top of the leaderboards I was thinking "wow some players are really good" but I never thought one second that those players were cheating. Instead, I was thinking that if they are good then I can become good too and practiced for that.

It was with this line of thought I also faced the challenge when I reached legend .... and still do.
