As quoted and ironsbone has stated, it is the duel accounts and, password ex-changers that are the real cheaters.
all one has to do is look at folks score histories to see who's been up to no good.
one minute they struggle to break 30 round st andies or kiawah......then all of a sudden they're shooting 55's round oakmont and 27's on whistler in rg's lol.
how can someone struggle to break 30 in a ranked round round st andrews...and front 9 of bethpage, then almost immediately go on to shoot 27's round whistler or 55 round oakmont or congressional in high roller rgs....it doesn't add up.
wgt could care less to be honest....but maybe one day they might open their eyes and see country/state ip location mismatches in certain player(s) log ins.
for example someone from a continent outside the USA cannot have a USA IP address eh?
myself.....well i'd rather lose or come 2nd than live a lie to win credits or any game for that matter.
it all comes down to honesty.
all we get from wgt is "if you think there's been cheating going on email us and we'll look into it"....
my problem with that is without access to check ip addresses then it's going to impossible to prove...i mean it's an online game.....easiest way of proof would be to see for example someone in france using a texas ip address to play his/her game etc....you can be in 2 places at once.....so what's the deal?
i understand there are multiple users using the same ip address in familial homes etc.....so proving any wrongdoing there will be impossible.
nothing will get done for sure....
yes there'll be folks who say it's only a game.....but when there's high roller rg's or prizes of $1000 up for grabs or trips to US & UK Opens with a value in excess of $4500, then I think WGT need to stamp down on duel accounts & password exchangers.
wgt don't have to scroll through a ton of accounts....why not for instance and as a test, just check out the monthly earnings leader board. it wouldn't take long to check most or all of those players ip addresses match up or don't match up to their country or state and to be honest I don't think any of them would mind.
at least it would be a start.
either way....being seen to do something about it would be better than being seen to do nothing about it.
