And more frustrating for a host of good players who nevertheless have lesser reflexes.

    Oh well!

That's what Senior Tours are for. We're talking Young Guns here, just like the real McCoy.  ;-)

I see that WGT are finally working around in the forums again. What do y'all think about this?

Senior tours, in real life, yes, Jim, but not here where there is no reliable means of age verification. Anyway, there must be some happy medium, to avoid slowing the meter down to a soporific crawl, or speeding it up to a dizzying scuttle, even for top clubs.

I think you missed the tongue in cheek intent, Gold. If you can't handle fast meters (understandable) wouldn't that equate to older golfers on the real tour not being able to hang with those younger pistols?

Personally, I wish there was a non meter ball in the Callaway or Nike line that gave a true meter speed, not one altered to allow more time for skips and stutters.

I do notice and appreciate your sense of humor, Jim ;-) I still chose to add a serious comment, as it seemed fitting.

Having said this, the best "young guns" will always outplay the best old pistols, and that's life.

As for high-performing, non-meter-altering balls, I fear they would not solve the meter problem, of skipping and stuttering. Look at starter balls. The meter with them is still erratic at times on susceptible systems.

I played the Tour-SD balls for a long time with the i15 irons-you don't get any faster than that. I never had any of the skipping/stuttering and always maintained that modifying that speed was what caused the problem to begin with.

Ah, that is a factual, valid observation, Jim! And you're right, i15 clubs with Tour-SD balls, that's speeding bullet fast. I could never consistently play well with that daunting combo. Yikes!

I did say risk/reward. You could keep your more forgiving driver if you wanted. When your smashing your R11 down the middle of a tight fairway i'd be hitting 3wood just in case i missed the ding with the driver.
