What effect do you think it would have on leader boards and scores if in tournament play a rule were implemented requiring every tournament round started had to be completed before that player could start another round?

I realize the best players are able to fire low scores all the time but who would be slowed and/or have their scores go up if they had to complete every tournament round?

Would you still play the game as much as you do now? More? Less?

I think it would be incredibly boring having to finish off rounds where you get off to a bad start (in an unlimited tourney).  If you don't like unlimited qualifiers there are many other game formats available to you on WGT.

I'd still play just as much on WGT, I'd just play more RGs instead of unlimited tourneys if required to finish every round started.

Not to mention balls being @ almost 5 bucks a pop, would become costly as well imo.

And people would quit the game more often too.

It's not a matter of disliking the unlimiteds. I think those who accuse the leaders of cheating don't even realize that the rules allow the restarts. I am doing the free unlimiteds knowing I'll never be competitive because I complete every game I start. Same as I do in real life. So, I mainly do those tourneys to compete against myself.

I see an awful amount of hostility between those who would like this to approach real world golf and those who see this as the computer game it is. I'm just trying to gain insight with a rational discussion. Otherwise I'd have gone straight to the product suggestions part of the forum.

I wonder if somewhere in the future a group of unlimited "rounds must be completed" tourneys could be added. It would be nice to see one or two of them and how well they would be received.

That is basically single play, like a Ready Go.

They could create an Unlimited Play Tourney with a play per round, so if you quit you have to paid Greens Fees again. But this would likely still keep the top players at the top because they have and are willing to burn through credits.

If I had to play through a CTTH match without quiting, id never play them.

I agree, why would you want to have to finish a bad round.  If I start an unlimited tourney or the qualifying, why should I have to finish if I start off with 5 straight pars, knowing that it will take 13 under just to qualify.

I believe the unlimited number of qualifying round helps the average players more than it hurts them.  Some players make the cut line and quit playing, a few want to try to get the lowest possible score and continue to play but having unlimited replays allows the average player to have that one great round that gets them into the tourney.  I would suggest that if it was one and done the players making the cut would be even more of the top players than it is today.

WGT is never giving up the unlimited play, lots of time watching commercials, burning up balls, etc. why should they.

I am known for my distaste for QUITTERS, but if it is a single player and it does no one harm?  What is the problem?  I too finish everygame i start but I do not understand your reasoning about single players restarting a round, I would call it a good practice session.  my nickle.

Yet those who constantly quit and restart in tournaments DO affect others by dominating the leaderboards and taking all the awards. Just as a quitter in a game with you keeps quitting until he/she can win.

A truly good player who can consistenty hold it together for 18 holes should rise to the top rather than the player who keeps quitting while waiting for lightning to strike. I guess I see it as an 18 hole round as opposed to a round that is only as many holes as I can hold it together.

It's also the difference between those who would like this game to approach reality as much as possible and those who view this as a computer game to be beaten.
