How about those with an AVG of 55 and lower

"...a rank number for every player, based on his or her average and other relevant variables, like the number of rounds played within a given tier, and the relative difficulty of these rounds."

That, to me, is the basis of a valid and workable formula.

    WGTicon:

    Hi

we have looked at this before; however, there is no system that we thought would even come close to deciding who is in the top 100.

Some sort of Hunger Games solution?

What WGT needs is a tour; any ranking system should be based on that (wins, top 10s, money list, etc.)

Just keep it simple, you don't have to decide the top 100 or 50 or 150. If their average is below 60, they are a Diamond Legend with all perks allotted. How hard can that be? If they are a multi or sander Hack with that average, guess what, they are now a Diamond Legend playing with the big girls and boys on their turf. Same tees, same greens. Same everything. I would love to see BB, Jake, and a bunch of others get their hands on these guys.

I agree with you 100 % ren.  Like you, my odds of ever MAKING that tier are roughly about as good as they are of winning the lottery (better actually, since I do not play the lottery), but  it would be something to dream about making.

    i think there's quite a diffirence between a 59 avg & 55 avg Legend .. so maybe:

    1. Legend: Avg >61-59

    2. Gold Legend: Avg>59-57

    3. Platinum Legend: Avg>55-57

    4. Diamond Legend: Avg> under 55

If u can add 1 new Tier, why not 4 ? to better distinguish between Legend status

I believe there is less peeps playing the game lately. (Takes longer to find or arrange a game lately.)

Maybe WGT may realize it's time to listen to there loyal players suggestions  now. So something may happen if there profit levels are dropping, which I believe they are.

Chris., your distinctions are good, but wgt will never consider creating a new tier for a handful of players. An upper legend tier, called Champion, for all sub-60 legends (the details of which I have discussed in other relevant threads) does make sense, however.

Maybe they won't, which I don't mind. The top handful of players have put a huge amount of time and effort into this game so deserve whatever winnings they can get IMO.

But my point in this thread is that WGT may start listening to and acting upon player suggestions, if there're profits are taking a nosedive. Which I'm guessing they are with my experience lately.

Money talks in business they say, and hopefully to our advantge.

Gold, you're suggestion in the OP I agree with, anything to help motivate players must be a good thing.
