Hate to give it away, but it was admitted by WGT on another forum that the surprise was the TaylorMade wedges. Oh, that plus the wedgie some players have given themselves over not being able to spin their chips on the green.

Using the wedge on the greens hasn't changed at all... just a observation I've seen from other players.

I would like to thank WGT for having a Maintenence period before I came home from work at 6pm in Australia on a Friday night....  Just fantastic! :)

Usually it starts at 6pm down here and starts up at 10pm.... Well done guys :)

http://www.wgt.com/replay.aspx?ID=1b0f327b-44a0-48f4-a811-a0540125f462   Now how can anybody say chipping on the green is wrong ? The goal in golf is to drop the ball in the cup in as few strokes as possible. It is in the rules too ! Read 'em and weep !

You know Romax - if you would spend less time hitting your wedge on the green and more time practicing with your putter (and probably picking up a better one) then you might actually be able to play a respectable game.  There are a couple of places on this game where using the pitch on the green might be considered acceptable - ie St Andy's 17th - but otherwise this whole argument is just plain ridiculous.  Yes, I have seen Mr. Mickelson's shot - and no, I don't care because Mr. Mickelson would putt that shot in your replay 100 times out of 100 and never even consider using a wedge.
