I know this has been discussed before but since the new WGT staffers are here thought I would throw this out again for discussion.  I don't know about the rest of you but if I want to play in a "READY" go then that means that I am "READY" to play it then.  There is no reason to sign up for a ready go when you know you won't play it for another 10 hours.  At that point there will be another one of the exact same ready go tourney's that you can play. I get sick of waiting to play the same ready go again because one flake has decided to sign up for a tourney and then go to work for the day or go to sleep for the night or whatever.  The limit on this should be at most 2 hours after the field is set IMO.

Maybe WGT could create some "fast" Ready-goes with course rotation that would have a duration of 3 hours for example...

maybe they should also allow multiple entries if a RG does not fill up after lets say 48 hours

+1 For the shorter time period.

+2 For a rotation of tournaments. The time period doesn't bother me near as much as having the same limited options all month... especially when St. Andrews makes up a good portion of those options.

I made that exact point, Spammage, many months ago, that there was no need to enter a RG until you were ready to play, because when you are ready to play there will always be one available of the one you want to play.  By entering and then not playing for 10 hours, all you are doing is stopping those who have played it from entering another RG of the same kind.  Unfortunately, no one seemed to understand this and I even lost a friend over it.

Well Mio - I fully understood your point then and it still drives me crazy now.  WGT should see this also as they could make more money if they changed it.  Out of the list of RGs available some are not set up to my liking ("Fast" greens, etc) and so I will play what I want and then just have to wait for those to close before playing them again.  With WGTs 20% take and the extra balls that would be used I would think they would also want the people who are "waiting" to be able to play more.

I play poker online alot and the way they do their ready to go tourneys called "sit and go". One tourney page that says when 12 players enter, the tourney will start. When 50 players joins the tourney will start. etc.. etc. But the key is you can see the list of who and how many players are signed. This way you can split screen while waiting and still practice, buy in the pro shop or simply web surf

You'd think, but it was actually a WGT employee who was against it!!!  I was told to play some of the other RG's.  But, like you, I didn't enter them to give credits away, but to win them, so I only played those where I knew I had a chance of making a profit.  Since turning Legend (in fact since turning TM) I don't play RG's any more because there's no way I can get a good enough score to get into the top 10.

But hey, with more WGT presence in the forum now, you never know.  We can but hope.  Actually, not me as I'm not bothered with RG's any more.

Statistically, you are a much better player than myself, and I frequently find myself in the top 10. Back to the point of this thread, 12 hours is way too long. If you're not ready to play, don't enter. With the multitude of RGs available, I would love to hear why anyone believes a 12 hour waiting period is justified. IMO - 3 hours at very, very most. READY Go.
