Am I alone in thinking this?

I played heavily until about a year ago, then recently came back.  Rarely did you see ready-go winners breaking 30 on 9 holes now it looks like the top 15 are all under 30!

I'm sure WGT is trying to figure out more ways to make it more realistic, but wow just shocked!

Great game still!  I just doubt I'll ever be in the money again though!

no, you're not the only one to think that. scores have become totally unreal and ridiculous. I cant think we can shoot 49 or 55 in real golf. All profesionals will tell u, it's impossible. in PGA, the best score is 59, three or four have done it in history, and not even Nicklaus, the guy who won 18 grand slams.

    It's a game .. not real golf.

These poor guys at WGT can't catch a break.

If they program it to play harder people throw darts and say ... it's VEM  !!! ... I hit it perfect it should have gone in !!!   ... How can a perfect shot not go where I hit it  ???  The greens are too fast, not fast enough, The wind isn't right ...  and 100 other things folks rant and rave about.

If they leave it programmed as it is ... people compare it to playing real golf and complain that the scores aren't realistic.

    IT'S A GAME ...........

I understand that but WGT is obviously trying to make it as realistic experience as possible with the HD backgrounds, and realistic play.  The comment was just designed to show how unrealistic the difficulty can be.

Not knocking the game, just laying down a comment.

I understand that Com ... wasn't trying to be a dUck ... but realistic in look (on a computer), feel, social networking, playing different types of golf games .... does not mean the scores will be the same as real golf.

By the way I was reacting more to the 2nd post where the scores are compared to real golf.   I'm sure you know games can never be compared to real golf.

And I had to say the poor WGT guys have to be pulling their hair out.    Legends complain about lower levels sandbagging ... people complain about having to spend real money.   I feel sorry for them .. trying to put this all together.

If everyone would just realize a few things like .. 1) it's a game, 2) to win anything substantial you have to spend real money, 3) without people spending real money .. WGT ceases to exist.

Anyway sorry if i jumped ... didn't mean to.

one issue we face is that one can play a course thousands of times more on WGT than in real life.  Having the home course knowledge is worth quite a few strokes

No, no I didn't take it that way at all.

Definitely the best golf game out there - hands down!

All the people working on this are doing a great job for sure.  When I discovered this game two years ago I was the happiest kid because there hadn't been a decent golf game around since PGA golf 2002 or something like that and this was SO much better.

I bet their goal though is to make this as close to real golf as possible.  I'm sure that's impossible with the game devices we currently have (keyboard and mouse).

Maybe as they continue to work on the tier logic I will enter more ready-go tourneys.  I used to place 1-5 in most with scores of 31 +/- 1 or 2. I guess I just have to practice more lol...

    Keep it up WGT

This is exactly what I was thinking before I read this post. You can't play 9 holes IRL in 30 minutes.  All these courses are home courses+.

However, the R11's and the super duper distance balls make it pretty easy for those who've played thousands of rounds to consistently shoot unrealistic scores in the 50's.

    Kid .. your almost right .. 9 holes takes 15 minutes and 18 takes 30 minutes ... :) ..

Look at some of the hours guys have logged in ... it's not that difficult to understand what your clubs & balls can do in any type of wind .. on any course if you play enough.

Now --- if WGT can add shot shaping to it ... my opinion is things will get harder since they will have to introduce more variables to your swing selection ... such as feet position, ball position, and draw/fade capabilities way beyond just missing the meter .....

So true Lou. And, a "virtual game" at that. Maybe it takes a while but I finally got it. 1 of 2 things. Either just hang out and have fun man. OR - become a Gamer, play your asses off EVERYDAY, work hard...veery hard at mastering you clubs and gb's and then - compete, and compete some more and THEN, go back and keep practicing and practice some more until one day you start to shoot 28, and 29's fairly consistently. The gentlemen that shoot these low scores on a consistent basis got there one way - by playing there hearts out EVERYDAY and seriously learning every nook and cranny on every course under as many conditions as they could.

I dont know how or even more importantly, why some players even stay here as long as they have. The veteran players that will STILL come into these forums and complain and whine about EVERYTHING, the meter, the green speed, the winds, the this , the that ,the blah, blah, blah, blah why or even better HOW in a high powers name are you still here.

Someone once said, it's easier for people to whine about everything that is wrong with the game then to work and practice at whats wrong with there own game.
