    WGTicon:
How many times someone restarts is up to them. The key difference is what they do then. Clearly abusing that for profit is 1 of the key things we look at.

OMG!!!  It's up to them???  Then say it, multi-accounting and sandbagging is allowed.

You look at???  Please tell me, what do you look at?  Do you check leaderboards?  No.  Do you read and follow up the threads people post about sandbaggers in MPC's and Skins for credits?  No.  Instead, you simply stop those who are trying to clean this place up from posting.  Or you disable their account but leave the cheats alone; I know that from experience so don't tell me you look at things because you do f*** all".

As you took out the rule that one no longer has to get to the same level and tier before entering prize paying tournaments (and I know exactly why it was taken out and so do you!), then I'm afraid you've shot yourselves in the foot because that was the only rule that stopped sandbagging.  So there's now no rule to say that if someone starts a new account they can't start playing for credits or other prizes.  Or if there is, please point me to it.  AND THEN ADHERE TO IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously Icon, if you dig your hole any deeper you will never climb out of it.

He didn't stop at TM ...made Legend as Belinda74

Tx, Dianne, did not know that. Heh-probably because I don't care. What he does is his concern and I suppose the concern of those that get miffed by his methods.  I'm in jvr's camp and feel there's way more to be had here than just respect.

The last thing MisterWGT said before he opened the room (and that didn't mean he was sticking around, it just meant chat was back on) was about WGT turning into a community of golfers. Ones that were passionate about the game and turning into this community that shared the same zeal. As in any community, you will have all the elements of human nature. How you chose to focus your attention really is up to you. Bothering about people that play the system is a complete waste of time. You ain't gonna change it.

Get off the witch hunts, people. Be part of the passionate golfers. Get to the Legend tier and put it all behind you, you can't get hurt by it as a Legend. WGT is wising up.  :-)

There is nothing to win by becoming legend, beside the respect...

    No better reason than that.

This site is about playing the game, not being a community and stay in forums all day talking trash the whole time. This is how the game site is not getting what needs to be done, DONE! The forum is still the same just more mods adding more threads, with no changes to the forum.

How is leaving bugs alone and not fixing them making this site better? The dates on the threads in the bug section go way back, and that just tells ya how much is getting done on making this site better. The forum is not the site. It is more of help people out. Which this forums is not really doing that. A lot of these threads sounds like wars and fights.

Adding something into the pro shop every 6 months is not making the site better either. It should be more often. There is also the suggestion section that pretty much almost all of it is not even added to the site. I could go on. We here from the mods that things are going to change. That right there has probably been said way before I even joined. Hate to say it, but I see nothing promising in the future from what I read in this forum. I check the forum maybe once or twice, and it looks like repeats of older threads re done by other members. There is no closer to ended threads.

Well stated Jim but sandbaggers, multi-accounters, restarters winning prize money from lower tier players becomes frustrating to many and has most likely discouraged many from working their way to Legend.

Like I stated before... this is an issue that is VERY hard to police but the policy as WGT has it now is disgraceful and needs to be changed.

No wonder why Hacks are shooting in the 20's....

Has any respected Legend here started out shooting in the 20's???  I know I had trouble shooting below 40 when I started.  I also had no clue about ranked rounds and strategies that cheaters have figured out how to sandbag....

Disappointing answer Icon to say the least... sorry

You are quite wrong. Had you been at the chat you might have seen this. By your own admission you don't follow closely so it's obvious you can't see the immediate change in attitudes, both here in the forum and on WGT's end.  There is everything positive working now. Revel in that if you're one that cares. Read more if you want to be that passionate in your take. You've been here 2 months. Give it a few years.  ;-)

The point I have been trying to get across is the difference between a multi-accounter....someone who has more than one account running at the same time, and a re-starter...someone who has closed an account before opening a new one.

So many are having trouble distinguishing between the 2

    Rob :)

Rob, you have been calling people ignorant for not being able to distinguish between a Multi-accounter and a Re-starter but I think it is you who is confused. YOU claim to KNOW the difference and are here and now stating that you are a Re-starter...... BUT....just 7 days ago in your last CC you ended up ADMITTING to being a MULTI-ACCOUNTER. So which of your two conflicting statements are we to believe?

You have admitted your identity on some of your past (now closed) profiles, so it is in black and white in wgt’s closed accounts data that you were definitely ‘robvanblue’,  kayvan’,  ‘belinda74’, ‘Aussierob56’, ‘Thelonestranger’ and ‘Legendinwaiting’ amongst others which you have yet to admit to.

Let’s take a look at the facts on these profiles:

    Robvanblue -          Start date: 02/10/2010 / Closed date: 11/10/2011

    Kayvan -                   Start date: 14/01/2011 / Closed date: 02/12/2011

    Belinda74 –            Start date:  28/03/2011 / Closed date: 07/12/2011

    Aussierob56 –        Start date: 20/08/2011 / Closed Date: 12/10/2011

    Thelonestranger – Start date: 22/10/2011 / Closed date: 11/11/2011

    Legendinwaiting – Start date: 12/12/2011 / Closed date: 30/01/2012

Can anyone spot any glaring 'overlaps?'

By your own admissions YOU have clearly been MULTI-ACCOUNTING. Are we NOW to believe that you are just a Re-starter?

New question for WGT, why is it that after bringing this guy’s wrong doings to your attention many times since last October he is still allowed an account (or two)? Why is it that he can post in this forum at will yet mine are still being moderated, is it because he spends a lot more dollars on here with his gifting in his quest ‘How to win friends and influence people?’

And the general question is why is it that I can put this information together and join the dots but wgt have failed to?

Well looks to me like you had a few account's ongoing at the same time...So what does that tell you???

I am just curious..How are you able to determine that someone has multiple accounts..?

Well, then the decision to allow (some may say 'encourage') players with the full skill set to simply start over when they can no longer be competitive in whatever tier they are in is extremely counterproductive. Who's to say the guy that finds this site tomorrow will be any less passionate than those who have been here for a few years? A true new hack, after struggling through a dozen rounds, looking at a leaderboard and seeing others, with the supposed same level of experience, shooting rounds in the 20's is very prone to walk away from the game. I have never won a ReadyGo since reaching Legend tier, but continue to play because I strive to eventually be able to play head-to-head with the best, and the longer I play, the more often I find myself finishing in the top 5 or top 10. IMO, restarting at the bottom ranks to feel competitive again is pure cowardice. The fact that allowing this was even discussed (let alone implemented) is extremely disturbing to me. This is not a good way to grow a community, it is a perfect way to maintain a community's exclusiveness.

As a 'passionate' player, I would like to see more players welcomed in to the community, not discouraged from entering at the door. For me, it's not about being hurt by anything, it's about seeing new players join our community and become 'passionate' themselves. A new hack should not have to compete against former Legends and TM's.

That's a great take,GM. One of the things coming up soon is supposed to be a new way to identify players by their records, particularly by tiers. "They will no longer be able to hide their scores." was, I believe, the way it was put by MisterWGT.
